OPGC Senior General Manager Finance Recruitment 2026: Overview

Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited (OPGC), a Government of Odisha company, is hiring a Senior General Manager – Finance on its regular rolls. OPGC runs the Ib Thermal Power Station at Banharpalli, Jharsuguda, with a total capacity of 1,740 MW from two 210 MW and two 660 MW units.

This is the top finance leadership role under the company's Market Based Salary (MBS) structure, where increments, promotions and rewards depend on performance. It suits a senior CA or CMA who has spent a long career in PSU or large private-sector finance, ideally in the power sector.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Performance-linked pay: Pay follows a cost-to-company pattern with a variable part, so your increments and promotions depend on your yearly performance.
• Probation: You serve a probation of at least one year from joining.
• Posting: You may be posted to any OPGC establishment anywhere in Odisha or India and transferred as the company needs.
• Full-time degrees only: Qualifications earned through part-time, distance or correspondence courses are not accepted.
• Experience counting: Stints shorter than six months in any organisation are ignored when your total experience is worked out, and preference goes to people with experience in a coal-based thermal power plant.
• Serving employees: If you work in a PSU or government body, apply through proper channel or bring a No Objection Certificate to the interview; otherwise you can join only after a formal release order.
• Internal candidates: OPGC executives need at least three years of residual service and one year in the next lower grade.
• Medical fitness: No relaxation in the company's health standards is allowed, and OPGC may send you to its own medical board.
• Travel: No travel allowance is paid for attending the interview.
