OFDR, Pune, has released a fresh notice (Advertisement No. 1914/96/AOCP(50)/Phase-II/HRM/2026) to fill 14 Danger Building Worker posts on a tenure basis. These are contract roles meant for candidates who have already completed an apprenticeship in the AOCP (Attendant Operator-Chemical Plant) trade or a related feeder trade at an Ordnance Factory or a government-recognised ITI. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be an ex-apprentice of the AOCP trade or one of its feeder trades — MCP, MMCP, LACP, PPO, Fitter General, Machinist, Turner, Sheet Metal Worker, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Boiler Attendant, Mechanic Industrial Electronics, or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic.
• Where you trained: Your apprenticeship must have been completed at an Ordnance Factory, or at a Government/private organisation affiliated with a Government ITI.
• PwBD: This post is not identified for Persons with Benchmark Disability, so PwBD candidates cannot apply.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on the last date of receipt of applications (21 days from the date this advertisement is published in Employment News).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years (only against posts reserved for SC/ST). OBC-NCL candidates get 3 years (only against posts reserved for OBC).
• Ex-Servicemen: Get relaxation equal to their period of military service plus 3 years.

Salary

• The basic pay for this Skilled-grade post is Rs. 19,900 per month plus Dearness Allowance (DA).
• You will be paid at 1/30th of your basic pay plus DA for every 8-hour working day, with proportionate deductions for unauthorised leave or absence.
• Central DA and House Rent Allowance (when company quarters are not provided) apply as per city classification. If a company quarter is allotted to you, a license fee is deducted at the rate applicable to regular workmen.
• You get a 3% annual increment (rounded to the next Rs. 10) on your basic pay every year during the tenure, subject to a satisfactory performance rating.
• If your performance rating is below satisfactory, you get 3 months to improve; a second poor rating can end your engagement with 15 days' notice.
• You are covered under EPF and the Employees' Compensation Act, 1923, and are eligible for bonus under the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965, where applicable.

Selection Process

OFDR will select candidates in the following stages:

1. Merit List: Prepared from your NCVT (NAC) marks. OFDR decides a cut-off percentage to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
2. Trade Test / Practical Test: Shortlisted candidates take a hands-on trade test in their apprenticeship trade.
3. Final Merit: Your final selection is based on the combined marks from your NCVT (NAC) record and the Trade Test/Practical Test.

Your work will involve the manufacture, handling, and disposal of military explosives and ammunition. After you join, you go through 1 month of mandatory internal training on the safe handling of explosives and ammunition — covering safety rules and workplace dos and don’ts — followed by 2 months of on-the-job training at your actual workplace, before being posted to specific work. You are also eligible for company holidays at par with regular employees during your tenure.
