NTA NCET 2026 - ITEP Admission Overview

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026. This exam is for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). ITEP is a dual-major holistic bachelor's degree that combines a regular degree with B.Ed. You can get degrees like B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed., or B.Com. B.Ed. through this programme.

A total of 16,950 seats are available across 223 institutions in India. These include Central Universities, State Universities, IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges.

Total Seats - Region Wise

• North Regional Committee (NRC): 8,000 seats
• East Regional Committee (ERC): 4,450 seats
• West Regional Committee (WRC): 1,550 seats
• South Regional Committee (SRC): 2,950 seats

Note: The number of seats may increase.

Who Can Apply?

• You must have passed Class 12 or be appearing in Class 12 exams from any recognized board.
• There is no age limit set by NTA for appearing in NCET. However, individual universities may have their own age criteria.
• No minimum percentage is needed to appear for NCET.

Application Fee

• General: Rs 1,200
• OBC-NCL / EWS: Rs 1,000
• SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender: Rs 650

Selection Process

The selection will happen in these steps:

1. NCET 2026 Computer Based Test (CBT) - You will take an online exam at a test centre.
2. Merit List - NTA will prepare a merit list based on your NCET score.
3. University Counselling - Each university will conduct its own counselling process for seat allotment.

Exam Language Options

You can take the NCET 2026 exam in any of these 13 languages:

English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

• Notification Date: 12 February 2026
• Application Start Date: 12 February 2026
• Application End Date: 10 March 2026 (11:50 PM)
• Last Date for Fee Payment: 11 March 2026 (11:50 PM)
• Correction Window: 12 March to 14 March 2026
• Exam Date: 17 April 2026 (tentative)

1. Go to the official NTA NCET website: exams.nta.nic.in/ncet
2. Click on "New Registration" and fill in your basic details.
3. Complete the application form with your personal, educational, and exam-related information.
4. Upload your photo, signature, and other required documents.
5. Pay the application fee online.
6. Download and save the confirmation page for your records.
