No. 13/2026 for 7 Assistant Professor posts in Sports Coaching, Physical Education, Sports Psychology and Sports Nutrition, along with 1 Junior Engineer (Civil) and 1 Public Relations Officer post. All posts are purely temporary, engaged for one year initially and likely to be extended based on need. NET/SLET/SET is not required for the Sports Coaching discipline, which makes this a good opportunity for experienced coaches without a qualifying exam.

Who Can Apply?

Assistant Professor - Sports Coaching (Athletics/Shooting/Weightlifting/Badminton):

• Master's degree with 55% marks in Sports Coaching or a relevant/allied subject, OR M.P.Ed/M.Sc (Sports Sciences)/MSS/M.P.E.S. with a Diploma or PG Diploma in Sports Coaching in the specific discipline.
• NET/SLET/SET is not required for the Sports Coaching discipline.
• Preferred: experience coaching sportspersons at national level or higher, or participation in national/international competitions.

Assistant Professor - Physical Education:

• Master's degree with 55% marks in Physical Education or an allied subject, plus NET (UGC) — exempted if you hold a Ph.D. as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations.

Assistant Professor - Sports Psychology / Sports Nutrition:

• Master's degree with 55% marks in the relevant/allied subject, plus NET (UGC/CSIR) or SLET/SET — exempted if you hold a Ph.D. as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations.

Junior Engineer (Civil):

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (Civil) with 1 year of relevant experience, OR a Diploma in Engineering with 3 years' experience in CPWD/State PWD or similar government/autonomous organisations, or a private construction company with an annual turnover of at least Rs. 200 crore.

Public Relations Officer:

• Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or Grade B on the UGC 7-point scale) in Journalism and Mass Communication.
• At least 5 years of experience in the editorial department of a Central/State Government department, PSU, educational institution, an accredited newspaper, national news agency, radio, TV or film media, or a reputed advertising agency.
• You should have an excellent command of spoken English, Hindi and the regional language. Working knowledge of computer applications is desirable.

Age Limit

• Junior Engineer (Civil): up to 35 years.
• Public Relations Officer: up to 40 years.
• No specific age limit is mentioned for the Assistant Professor posts.

Salary

• Assistant Professor (all disciplines): Rs. 80,000 per month consolidated.
• Public Relations Officer: Rs. 77,000 per month consolidated.
• Junior Engineer (Civil): Rs. 50,000 per month consolidated.
• All posts carry a fixed consolidated monthly pay — no separate DA, HRA or other allowances are mentioned.

• SC / ST / PwD / Women candidates: No fee
• Payment mode: Deposit directly into NSU's HDFC Bank account (Chingmeirong Branch) and enclose the transaction slip with your application.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through:

1. Screening/Shortlisting: Based on your qualifications, merit, specialization and experience — higher qualifications and specialization get preference.
2. Document Verification: Your certificates and testimonials are checked at the time of appointment.
3. Interview: Held at short notice — keep checking nsu.ac.in for updates. You must attend at your own expense.

There is no written exam for these posts. You must submit a separate application for each post you apply for.
