National Sports University (NSU), Imphal has released Advertisement No. 12/2026 to fill 3 teaching posts (Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in sports-related disciplines) and 8 non-teaching posts (from Deputy Controller of Examinations to Nursing Attendant) at its Imphal campus in Manipur. All 11 posts carry 1 vacancy each, and all are Unreserved (UR). Note that the originally advertised Library Assistant post has since been withdrawn by the University and is not part of this recruitment.

Who Can Apply?

Professor (Physical Education) - Level 14:

• You need a Master's Degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed/M.P.E.S) with 55% marks, a Ph.D. in a related discipline, and at least 10 years of teaching/research experience with a minimum of 10 research publications.

Associate Professor (Sports Medicine) - Level 13A:

• You need MD/DNB (Sports Medicine) recognised by NMC, or MS (Orthopaedics)/MD (PMR) with 2 years' experience in Sports Medicine, plus at least 4 years as Assistant Professor in a related field.

Assistant Professor (Sports Coaching-Athletics) - Level 10:

• You need a Master's degree in Sports Coaching or M.P.Ed/M.Sc. Sports Science with 55% marks, along with a Diploma in Sports Coaching (Athletics). NET/SLET/SET is not required for this discipline.

Deputy Controller of Examinations - Level 12:

• You need a Master's Degree with 55% marks and at least 9 years' experience as Assistant Professor in Level-10 or above with educational administration experience, or 5 years as Assistant Registrar.

Assistant Librarian - Level 10:

• You need a Master's Degree in Library/Information Science with 55% marks and must have qualified NET/SLET/SET.

Section Officer / Private Secretary - Level 7:

• You need a Bachelor's Degree and 3 years' relevant experience (as Assistant Section Officer for Section Officer, or as Personal Assistant for Private Secretary). Stenography skills are desirable for Private Secretary.

Assistant Section Officer - Level 6:

• You need a Bachelor's Degree and 3 years' experience as UDC in Level-4, or equivalent administrative experience.

Physiotherapist - Level 6:

• You need a Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy and 4 years' experience in a recognised hospital.

Accountant - Level 6:

• You need a B.Com/M.Com/MBA and 3 years' experience in Finance & Accounts, with knowledge of Tally and PFMS software.

Nursing Attendant - Level 1:

• You need 10+2 with a Diploma in GNM/ANM and 2 years' hospital experience.

Age Limit

• Section Officer / Private Secretary: Maximum 45 years
• Assistant Section Officer: Maximum 40 years
• Physiotherapist / Accountant: Maximum 35 years
• Nursing Attendant: Maximum 30 years
• For teaching posts, Deputy Controller of Examinations, and Assistant Librarian, age is governed by UGC/Government of India superannuation norms rather than a fixed entry age limit.

Salary

• Pay ranges from Rs. 18,000 per month (Level 1, Nursing Attendant) up to Rs. 2,18,200 per month (Level 14, Professor), under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Government of India rules.
• Selected candidates are appointed under a written contract as per University norms, and regular appointments are covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS).

• SC / ST / PwD / Women candidates: No fee
• Payment mode: Direct bank transfer to NSU's HDFC Bank account (Chingmeirong Branch); enclose the transaction slip with your application
• If you apply for more than one post, you must submit a separate application and fee for each post

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Screening of Applications: The University checks your qualifications, experience and documents against the eligibility criteria for the post.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. You must bring original certificates for verification. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

There is no written exam for these posts.
