NMDC Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has released Employment Notification No. 04/2026 dated 22 April 2026 for 59 Junior Engineer (Mining) (Contractual) (Grade CE-04) posts. NMDC is India's largest iron ore producer and runs mining operations across multiple states. The contract period is up to 3 years initially, extendable based on performance, or till the age of 60 years — whichever is earlier. Diploma holders in Mining Engineering who want a well-paying PSU job can apply online before 6 May 2026.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: Diploma in Mining Engineering of 3 years duration from a University or Institution recognised by UGC, AICTE, or the Government of India.
• Desirable Qualification: Foreman's Certificate of Competency for metalliferous mines.
• Note: The Diploma must be the prescribed qualification. Holding a higher qualification does not make you eligible if you do not have the Diploma.
• Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 50 years (as on 06 May 2026, the last date to apply)
• Age Relaxation for SC/ST: Up to 5 years (maximum age 55 years)
• Age Relaxation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Up to 3 years (maximum age 53 years)
• Age Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India guidelines

Salary and Benefits

• Consolidated Pay: Rs. 60,000 per month (Grade CE-04)
• Annual Increment: Up to 5% based on performance
• HRA: As applicable
• TA/DA: As applicable for official tours
• Accidental Group Insurance: Covered for accidents during employment
• Outpatient Medical Expenses: Rs. 35,000 per annum for self-treatment
• Leaves: 12 Casual Leaves + 20 Medical Leaves per calendar year
• Training: One month On the Job Training (OJT) upon joining

Selection Process

There is no written examination for this recruitment. Selection is done in 2 stages:

1. Document Verification: Your original certificates for date of birth, qualification, caste/category, and other documents will be verified. Only those whose documents pass verification will move to the next stage.
2. Supervisory Skill Assessment: A duly constituted Committee from NMDC will assess your suitability for the post. The merit list will be prepared based on your performance in this assessment.

Admit cards/call letters for the Supervisory Skill Assessment will be sent by email and can also be downloaded from the NMDC Careers page.

2. Click on Apply Online to register yourself with your email ID and mobile number.
3. You will receive your application/registration number via SMS and email.
4. Click on Applicant Login and fill in the complete application form.
5. Upload all required documents: recent passport-size photo, Matriculation/10th certificate (for DOB), Diploma in Mining Engineering certificate, caste/category certificate (if applicable), Ex-Serviceman certificate (if applicable), and scanned signature.
6. Pay the application fee online (Rs. 250 for non-exempted categories) via UPI, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
7. Submit the form and download the printout for your records.

Hard copies are NOT required to be sent by post. Submit only one application — in case of multiple applications, the latest one will be considered final.

• Supervise day-to-day mining operations at the assigned mine or project site
• Monitor drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities to ensure safe and efficient production
• Maintain accurate records of ore production, equipment usage, and shift reports
• Follow statutory safety regulations under the Mines Act and DGMS guidelines at all times
• Assist in planning and executing daily mine production targets as directed by senior engineers
• Inspect mining machinery and report defects or breakdowns to the maintenance team promptly
• Coordinate with survey and geology teams for pit design, grade control, and overburden removal
