NMDC Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has released Employment Notification No. 04/2026 dated 22 April 2026 for 59 Junior Engineer (Mining) (Contractual) (Grade CE-04) posts. NMDC is India's largest iron ore producer and runs mining operations across multiple states. The contract period is up to 3 years initially, extendable based on performance, or till the age of 60 years — whichever is earlier. Diploma holders in Mining Engineering who want a well-paying PSU job can apply online before 6 May 2026.

Selection Process

There is no written examination for this recruitment. Selection is done in 2 stages:

  1. Document Verification: Your original certificates for date of birth, qualification, caste/category, and other documents will be verified. Only those whose documents pass verification will move to the next stage.
  2. Supervisory Skill Assessment: A duly constituted Committee from NMDC will assess your suitability for the post. The merit list will be prepared based on your performance in this assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day mining operations at the assigned mine or project site
  • Monitor drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities to ensure safe and efficient production
  • Maintain accurate records of ore production, equipment usage, and shift reports
  • Follow statutory safety regulations under the Mines Act and DGMS guidelines at all times
  • Assist in planning and executing daily mine production targets as directed by senior engineers
  • Inspect mining machinery and report defects or breakdowns to the maintenance team promptly
  • Coordinate with survey and geology teams for pit design, grade control, and overburden removal

Minimum Qualification

Diploma in Mining Engineering (3 years) from UGC/AICTE/Govt. recognised University

Preferred Qualification

Foreman's Certificate of Competency for metalliferous mines
