NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India), the Government of India's top public policy think-tank, has opened 23 positions for Consultant Grade 1 and Young Professional roles across six divisions, including the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), Public Finance & Policy Analysis, Mines & Minerals, Communications, Water & Land Resources, and Green Transition. The engagement is for a fixed period of 2 years, extendable by one year at a time up to a maximum of 5 years based on your annual performance review. Who Can Apply?

Your educational qualification and work experience decide which position you fit:

Essential Qualification (for both positions)

• A Master's degree in a relevant subject, OR
• BE / B.Tech, OR a 2-year PG Diploma in Management, OR MBBS / LLB / CA / ICWA, OR
• Any professional degree of 4 years or more done after 10+2.

Experience Required

• Young Professional: at least 1 year of experience.
• Consultant Grade 1: 3 to 8 years of experience.
• For Ph.D holders, up to 3 years of the doctoral period counts as experience (if no other work was done in those years).

Preferred

• Candidates with M.Phil, M.Tech, M.S., LLM or Ph.D, research experience, and published papers are given preference.

Age Limit

• Young Professional: up to 32 years.
• Consultant Grade 1: up to 45 years.
• Retired government servants who meet the eligibility can also apply through the open competitive process.

Salary

• Young Professional: consolidated Rs. 70,000 per month.
• Consultant Grade 1: consolidated Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1,45,000 per month, based on your experience.
• The pay is inclusive of all taxes. You also get travel and stay reimbursement for approved official tours.
• Pay may be reviewed every year based on your performance, up to a maximum of 1.35 times the starting amount.
• You also get 1.5 days of paid leave for every completed month of work.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test. Selection is done from the resource pool in these steps:

1. Profile Submission: You register and submit your profile on the Work for Viksit Bharat portal.
2. Shortlisting: A Screening Committee checks eligibility and recommends a panel of at least 3 candidates per requirement.
3. Evaluation by Consultancy Evaluation Committee (CEC): The committee selects the most suitable candidates and may hold an interaction or interview.
4. Police Verification: Done before you join. A clear verification is required.
