National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) JRF Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

NIT Silchar has invited applications for 1 Junior Research Fellow position under a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India sponsored project titled "Design and Modeling of Lab-On-Chip based Bio-reactors Capable of Mimicking Human Glomerulus Ultrafiltration and Reabsorption Function of Proximal Tubule of Kidney for in vivo implantation." The position is initially for four months and may be extended if funds are available. Dr. Koushik Guha and Prof. K. L. Baishnab of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering are the Principal Investigators. This is a great opportunity for microfluidics/MEMS researchers to work on a cutting-edge biomedical engineering project.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.E./M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (specialization in microfluidics & MEMS) or a related field from a recognized university, with at least 60% marks in your Master's degree.
• Additional Requirement: You must be GATE or NET qualified.
• Desirable Experience: Good working knowledge of microfluidics and MEMS simulation tools, and prior experience in modeling, simulation, or fabrication of micro-devices.

Age Limit

• You should not be more than 35 years old as on the closing date of application, 21 August 2026.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get Rs. 37,000 per month.
• HRA and other allowances will be given as per project/institute norms.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection for this JRF post is through screening and an interview:

1. Screening: The institute may restrict the number of candidates called for interview based on an initial screening of applications.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed of the date, time, and mode (online/offline) through email.

Employed candidates must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of interview.
