NIT Raipur JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Department of Electrical Engineering at National Institute of Technology Raipur (NIT Raipur) in Chhattisgarh is looking for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / project staff member for a research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), New Delhi. The project is titled Design and Development of Pulsed Electric Field based Non-thermal Food Processing System — it uses short high-voltage electric pulses to process food without heating it.

This is a project-based, temporary position filled through a walk-in interview, not a regular institute job. The project is planned to run for two years, from December 2026 to December 2028. If you have an electrical, power electronics or high-voltage background and want to move into applied research, this is a good entry point — selected candidates may also be encouraged to enrol for a Ph.D. at NIT Raipur.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Selection route for the degree: your qualification alone is not enough — you must have been selected through GATE, CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship), or a national-level exam run by the Ministry of Education or its institutions such as UGC, IIT, IISc, IISER or IIIT.
• GATE preference: candidates who qualified through GATE get preference at the interview.
• Tenure: the post is purely temporary and runs only as long as the project; it can be extended till the project ends if your work is satisfactory.
• Rules: you will be governed by the administrative rules of NIT Raipur, and the institute can cancel the recruitment without giving a reason.
• Screening first: your documents are checked before the interview, and only those found eligible are allowed to sit for it.
• No travel allowance: no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview or for joining.
• Ph.D. option: selected candidates may be encouraged to register for a Ph.D. at NIT Raipur under the institute's rules.
