National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (NIT Kurukshetra), under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is engaging Adjunct Faculty in various departments through a rolling advertisement. There is no written exam — selection is based on your record, a presentation, and an interview. Serving and retired scientists, engineers, academicians, civil servants (IAS/IPS), and industry professionals can apply. A Ph.D. is not always required for industry and R&D experts.

The number and nature of posts may change at the time of selection, and the Institute may choose not to fill a post.

Who Can Apply?

• Profile: You should be an accomplished professional in your field — comparable to at least the top one-third of regular faculty in expertise and reputation.
• Experience: Normally at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field. For emerging and cutting-edge technologies, 5+ years may be enough.
• Qualification: For candidates from industry or research organisations, a postgraduate or Ph.D. degree may not be essential if your domain knowledge is strong.
• Who can apply: Serving and retired scientists, engineers, physicians, academicians, advocates, artists, bankers, policymakers, civil servants (IAS/IPS), and professionals from reputed industries, PSUs, R&D bodies, and overseas organisations with an interest in Indian issues.
• Industry/research experience should be in Government, Public Enterprise, or National Laboratory. Private industry experience counts only if the company is incorporated under the Indian Companies Act.

Salary (Honorarium)

• Adjunct Professor: Up to Rs. 1,80,000 per month (or Rs. 8,000 per day / Rs. 2,000 per hour)
• Adjunct Fellow: Up to Rs. 1,20,000 per month (or Rs. 6,000 per day / Rs. 1,500 per hour)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is done in these steps:

1. Shortlisting: Based on your qualifications and experience. The shortlisting bar may be higher than the minimum advertised, and may vary by department.
2. Presentation and Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear before the Selection Committee (at their own cost) on a date and place notified separately.
3. Document Verification: You must produce all original documents at the time of interview.
4. Medical Examination: You must be found physically fit before joining.

2. Fill in the form and attach self-attested photocopies of your certificates.
3. Write the Post Applied, Department, and Discipline on the top-left corner of the envelope. Submit a separate application for each post/department/discipline.
4. Government, autonomous body, and PSU employees must apply through proper channel and bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the interview.
5. Send the completed application by post so it reaches The Registrar, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra-136119 (Haryana) by the last date.
