NID Assam IT Technician Support Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Design Assam (NID Assam) needs one IT Technician Support Staff member for its campus at Tocklai, Rajabari, Jorhat. The post is filled through a walk-in interview on a purely contractual basis, so there is no online form and no written test announced. Whoever is picked becomes the person staff and students turn to when a computer, network point, phone line or camera stops working.

The job covers the whole IT setup of the campus: desktops and software, the LAN and Wi-Fi network, VoIP phones, the servers, the CCTV system and the inventory management software. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The engagement starts for one year; it may be extended depending on your performance and the institute's requirement.
• Two experience routes: HSLC (Class 10) holders can apply, but they need a longer record of relevant IT work than degree or diploma holders.
• Preference: Candidates who have done similar work in reputed organisations are preferred.
• Useful certifications: Hardware and software, networking, CCTV or audio-visual skills are listed as desirable, not compulsory.
• Age relaxation: The upper age limit may be relaxed for deserving candidates at the institute's discretion.
