The National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) is hiring a Consultant - Quality and Patient Safety in New Delhi. If you have an MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/B.Sc Nursing/BPT/BOT/BMLT degree with a 2-year post-graduate degree in Hospital Management or Public Health, you can apply online. NHSRC Consultant Quality and Patient Safety Recruitment 2026
The National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) is a technical support institution under the National Health Mission (NHM), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. It wants to add a Consultant to its Quality and Patient Safety Division to support the rollout of National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), LaQshya, MusQan, Kayakalp and Patient Safety initiatives across states. This is a contract role till 31 March 2028, with possible extensions, and you will report to the Advisor - Quality Improvement.
Who Can Apply?
Only full-time / regular degrees are accepted.
- Qualification: You must have an MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, B.Sc Nursing, BPT, BOT or BMLT degree, plus a 2-year full-time post-graduate degree in Hospital Management or Public Health from a reputed institute.
- Experience: You need at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience.
- NQAS Experience: You must have at least 1 year of experience implementing National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) at the State or District level.
- Computer Skills: You should know MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

- Maximum age: 45 years or below.
Salary
- You will get a monthly fee between Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 1,20,000. The exact amount depends on your qualification and experience.

Selection Process
Selection is mainly through screening and an interview:
- Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates are called for an interview.
- Written Test / Presentation: You may be asked to take a written test and give a presentation to check your writing and language skills. If a written test is held, the top 5 candidates per vacancy (1:5 ratio) are considered; ties are all included.

Responsibilities
- Review programme guidelines and study the existing measurement system (measurable elements and checkpoints) under NQAS, LaQshya, MusQan, Kayakalp and the Patient Safety Tool
- Support the division in drafting new quality initiatives
- Help states implement NQAS, LaQshya, MusQan, Kayakalp and Patient Safety tools
- Develop resource material for quality programmes
- Conduct training programmes in states and union territories
- Analyse key performance and outcome indicators and plan action to close the gaps found
- Work in the NHSRC Certification Unit when deputed, and travel to states for about one-third of the time
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/B.Sc Nursing/BPT/BOT/BMLT with a 2-year full-time PG degree in Hospital Management or Public Health
Required Skills
Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); experience in NQAS implementation; strong writing and language skills

Exam Pattern
A written test or screening test may be held to judge your writing skills and language proficiency, along with a presentation. This is not always conducted — it is used only if needed.
If a written test is held, a 1:5 ratio is used, meaning the top 5 candidates per vacancy move ahead. If two or more candidates score the same marks, all of them are included.
Final stage: Personal interview for shortlisted candidates.
