About This Job

NHSRC is hiring a Consultant – Community Processes for its Community Processes and Comprehensive Primary Healthcare (CP-CPHC) Division in New Delhi. If you are a medical or allied science postgraduate with at least 3 years of public health experience, you can apply. The salary is Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 per month. This is a contractual post till 31 March 2028 (extendable). The last date to apply online is 16 June 2026.

National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) Consultant Community Processes Recruitment 2026

The National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) is an autonomous society under the National Health Mission (NHM) that gives technical support to states and shapes national health policy. This role focuses on community processes — working with SHGs, ASHAs and other community platforms to strengthen primary health care at the grassroots. You will support states in rolling out CP-CPHC programmes and building strong community ownership. The position reports to the Advisor, CP-CPHC.

Who Can Apply?

You need a qualifying degree plus relevant public health experience. Only regular (full-time) courses are accepted.

Educational Qualification

  • A Medical Graduate degree (MBBS, BDS, AYUSH), a Bachelor's in Allied Sciences (B.Sc in Emergency and Trauma Care or Cardio Laboratory Technology), Nursing or Pharmacy.
  • Plus a specialisation in MD Community Medicine, MPH, MBA in Health Management/Health Administration, MBA in Developmental Studies, or PG Diploma in Hospital and Health Management.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in Public Health, Community Health or Health Systems after your post-graduation.
  • Experience in research, capacity building and documentation, especially technical journal writing, while working with public health systems.

Skills

  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, plus internet use for research and literature review.
  • Strong data analysis, documentation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and/or Hindi. Clinical experience and NGO/grassroots public health experience are a plus.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 45 years.

Salary

  • You will get a monthly fee between Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 1,20,000. The exact amount depends on your qualification and experience.
  • Extra benefits include free accidental insurance, subsidised medical insurance, mobile bill and laptop reimbursement (as per NHSRC policy), 30 days leave, fully paid maternity leave for women consultants, performance-linked increments, and TA/DA plus per diem for official trips.

Selection Process

Selection is mainly through interview. NHSRC may also hold a written test.

  1. Written Test (if held): If a written test is conducted, the top 5 candidates per vacancy (1:5 ratio) are shortlisted. If candidates tie on marks, all of them move forward.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview by NHSRC.

Candidates selected in the interview may also be considered for other similar vacant posts at NHSRC.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to states for decentralised roll-out of Community Processes and CPHC components
  • Design and deliver skill-based training, mentoring and policy support for state, district, block and frontline teams
  • Work closely with community-based organisations, SHGs, ASHAs and community platforms to build community ownership
  • Build links with public health institutions, research bodies, academic institutions and technical support agencies
  • Support planning, roll-out, review and course correction of CP-CPHC interventions with state and national partners
  • Strengthen community participation in primary health care programmes
  • Handle other CP-CPHC tasks assigned by the Advisor as per programme priorities

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

MBBS/BDS/AYUSH or Bachelor's in Allied Sciences (Emergency & Trauma Care/Cardio Lab Technology)/Nursing/Pharmacy with MD Community Medicine/MPH/MBA (Health Management or Developmental Studies)/PG Diploma in Hospital and Health Management

Preferred Qualification

Working knowledge of regional languages; clinical experience; experience writing health research reports and training modules; NGO-led primary health care or grassroots public health experience

Required Skills

Community processes, capacity building, research, documentation, data analysis, MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, communication, presentation, English and/or Hindi
