About This Job

NHSRC is hiring a Consultant – AI & Digital Technology for its Community Processes and Comprehensive Primary Healthcare (CP-CPHC) Division in New Delhi. If you are a medical or public health postgraduate with at least 3 years of experience and have worked on digital health or AI projects, you can apply. The salary is Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 per month. This is a contractual post till 31 March 2028 (extendable). The last date to apply online is 16 June 2026.

The National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) is an autonomous society set up under the National Health Mission (NHM) to give technical support to states and shape national health policy. It now wants a Consultant to bring Artificial Intelligence and digital technology into primary health care and community processes. This is a fresh, technology-focused role where you will design AI-based public health tools and help states roll them out. The position reports to the Advisor, CP-CPHC.

Who Can Apply?

You need both a qualifying degree and relevant experience. Only regular (full-time) courses are accepted.

Educational Qualification

  • A degree in MBBS, BDS, Nursing or Pharmacy, plus a postgraduate qualification such as MD in Community Medicine, MPH, MBA in Health Management/Health Administration, PG Diploma in Hospital and Health Management, or MBA in Developmental Studies.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in Public Health, Community Health or Health Systems after your post-graduation.
  • Experience in Public Health AI or digital technology implementation.
  • More than 3 years of work on digital health technology in a private firm, NGO, government, or autonomous body.

Skills

  • Strong data analysis, documentation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and/or Hindi. Knowledge of other regional languages is a plus.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 45 years.

Salary

  • You will get a monthly fee between Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 1,20,000. The exact amount depends on your qualification and experience.
  • Extra benefits include free accidental insurance, subsidised medical insurance, mobile bill and laptop reimbursement (as per NHSRC policy), 30 days leave, fully paid maternity leave for women consultants, performance-linked increments, and TA/DA plus per diem for official trips.

Selection Process

Selection is mainly through interview. NHSRC may also hold a written test.

  1. Written Test (if held): If a written test is conducted, the top 5 candidates per vacancy (1:5 ratio) are shortlisted. If candidates tie on marks, all of them move forward.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview by NHSRC.

Candidates selected in the interview may also be considered for other similar vacant posts at NHSRC.

Responsibilities

  • Support states in developing, adapting and strengthening digital technology and AI tools for primary health care and community processes
  • Design public health interventions that are technology, AI or generative AI based
  • Support planning, roll-out, review and course correction of technology-based CP-CPHC programmes with state and national partners
  • Work with technical teams to keep solutions user-friendly and suited to each state's needs
  • Integrate digital tools with existing health information systems to improve data quality and use
  • Build the capacity of state and district teams to use digital tools for CP-CPHC work
  • Handle other CP-CPHC tasks assigned by the Advisor as per programme priorities

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

MBBS/BDS/Nursing/Pharmacy with MD Community Medicine/MPH/MBA (Health Management or Developmental Studies)/PG Diploma in Hospital and Health Management

Preferred Qualification

Working knowledge of regional languages; experience in research documentation; ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team

Required Skills

Public Health AI/digital technology implementation, data analysis, documentation, communication, presentation, English and/or Hindi

Age Limit

18 - 45 years
