North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Research Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

NEHU has released a notification to fill 1 Research Assistant post under Prof. S.R. Joshi, who is the Principal Investigator of a Government of India funded research project in the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics. The project studies "Characterization and identification of pharmaceutically active compounds in fermented bamboo shoots of North East India", covering bioactivity evaluation, microbiological profiling, and the scientific validation of its anticarcinogenic role. NEHU is a Central University located in Shillong, Meghalaya, and this project gives life sciences graduates a chance to gain hands-on research experience in a funded biotech project. Candidates who enjoy lab work and microbial culture handling should apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.Sc in Life Sciences from a recognised university
• Experience: You must have hands-on experience of working in a Microbiology Laboratory and handling microbial cultures

Salary

• The stipend will be paid as per the project norms of the funding agency (Government of India).
• This is a purely temporary position and will run only for the duration of the research project (co-terminus with the project).
