NCBS Technical Trainee (Civil) Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), a centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. 4/2026 for 2 Technical Trainee posts in the Civil Department. NCBS is a premier research institute in Bangalore working in life sciences. This is a training position with an initial tenure of one year, extendable up to two years. Freshers with a Civil Engineering diploma can apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised university or institute with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
• Experience: Freshers with relevant skills are preferred. No prior work experience is required.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 28 years as on 01 January 2026.
• You should have been born on or after 02 January 1998 to be eligible.

Salary

• Selected trainees will receive a consolidated stipend of Rs. 23,000 per month.
• The initial training tenure is 1 year, which may be extended up to a maximum of 2 years.
• Note: There is no provision for permanent appointment at NCBS after the training period.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through the following stages:

1. Written Test: To assess your knowledge of Civil Engineering concepts.
2. Skill Test: To evaluate your practical and technical skills.
3. Trade Test: To test your hands-on ability in civil engineering work.

The institute may shortlist candidates if a large number of applications are received. Any changes to the selection process will be communicated by email.

Nature of Training

During your training at NCBS, you will be involved in the following activities:

1. Site supervision for ongoing construction and maintenance works
2. Records maintenance for civil department projects
3. Civil maintenance works across the campus
4. Preparing estimates and tender documents
5. Other civil engineering-related works as assigned
