Who Can Apply?

Deputy Director (Medical)

  • Qualification: You need a recognised postgraduate medical qualification approved under the Medical Council Act, 1956.
  • Preferred: Training in medical education technology or knowledge of MCQ/MEQ creation and candidate performance analysis is useful.

Junior Programmer

  • Qualification: You need B.Tech, BE, BCA, DOEACC B/C level, or a degree in Computer Science, IT or Electronics with computer specialisation.

Junior Accountant

  • Qualification: You need a bachelor degree with Mathematics or Statistics, or a Commerce degree from a recognised university.
  • Preferred: Three years of accounts experience in a government institution with computer-based accounting knowledge is useful.

Stenographer and Junior Assistant

  • Stenographer: You need Senior Secondary (12th) and shorthand/typing skill of 80/30 WPM.
  • Junior Assistant: You need Senior Secondary (12th), computer proficiency and knowledge of basic software packages such as Windows, network operating systems and LAN work.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 18 years for direct recruitment.
  • Deputy Director (Medical): Maximum 35 years.
  • Junior Programmer, Junior Accountant and Junior Assistant: Below 27 years.
  • Stenographer: 18 to 27 years.
  • Age date: Age will be counted as on 20 July 2026.
  • Relaxation: SC/ST get 5 years, OBC get 3 years, PwBD get 10 to 15 years based on category, and Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Salary

  • Deputy Director (Medical): Pay Matrix Level 11, around Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month.
  • Junior Programmer: Pay Matrix Level 7, around Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month.
  • Junior Accountant and Stenographer: Pay Matrix Level 4, around Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month.
  • Junior Assistant: Pay Matrix Level 2, around Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
  • Allowances: DA, HRA, TA and other allowances will apply as per central government rules.

Application Fee

  • UR/OBC for all posts: Rs. 1,500 plus 18% GST
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Women: No fee

Selection Process

NBEMS will conduct written/CBT and skill-based selection stages, but the exact scheme for Deputy Director (Medical) and Junior Programmer will be published separately on the NBEMS website.

  1. CBT for Junior Accountant, Stenographer and Junior Assistant: Stage I has 200 questions for 200 marks in 180 minutes.
  2. Skill Test: Stage II has 100 marks and 75 minutes, covering computer knowledge, data entry, word processing, computer operation and stenography as applicable.
  3. Document Verification: Qualification, category, PwBD, ESM and identity documents will be checked when called.
  4. Medical Fitness: Final appointment needs a medical fitness certificate as specified by NBEMS.

No interview will be held for Group B and C posts. For the CBT, there is 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer, and the paper will be in English and Hindi.

Minimum Qualification

Preferred Qualification

Medical education technology knowledge for Deputy Director; accounts experience for Junior Accountant; two years steno experience and computer word processing for Stenographer

Exam Pattern

The Stage I CBT for Junior Accountant, Stenographer and Junior Assistant will have 200 questions for 200 marks. You will get 180 minutes to complete the paper.

Subject-wise Breakdown

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 50 questions for 50 marks
  • General Awareness: 50 questions for 50 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions for 50 marks
  • English Comprehension: 50 questions for 50 marks

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Stage II Skill Test: Computer Knowledge/Skill Test will have 100 marks and 75 minutes. It may include data entry, word processing, computer operation and stenography as per the post.

Exam Language: English and Hindi for Stage I CBT.
