NABARD Bank's Medical Officer (BMO) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Jharkhand Regional Office, Ranchi has released an advertisement to prepare a panel and fill 01 post of Bank's Medical Officer (BMO) on contract basis for the NABARD Officers Quarter at Khelgaon, Ranchi. This is a part-time, hourly-paid engagement ideal for a practising doctor who already runs a clinic near the location. The contract runs for 5 years and can be renewed up to the age of 70 years based on performance.

NABARD is one of India's top development banks and looks after agriculture and rural development across the country. This BMO role lets you keep running your own practice while spending just one hour a day at the Bank's dispensary. It is a steady extra source of income with a long-term contract, and it does not stop you from continuing your regular clinic work the rest of the day.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an MBBS degree in the allopathic system of medicine from a university recognised by the Medical Council of India.
• Higher Degree: Doctors with a post-graduate degree in General Medicine can also apply.
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of experience in any hospital or clinic as a medical practitioner.
• Location: You must have your own dispensary or residence within a 5 km radius of the Bank's dispensary at Khelgaon, Ranchi.
• You must have a valid medical registration.

Age Limit

• There is no fixed lower age limit beyond having the required degree and experience.
• The contract is renewable up to the age of 70 years, and beyond 70 up to 75 years on a yearly basis subject to medical fitness and review.

Salary (Hourly Pay)

• Rs. 1,000 per hour for the first 3 years of contractual service.
• Rs. 1,200 per hour after completing 3 years of service.
• Duty is 1 hour per day (8:00 AM to 9:00 AM), Tuesday to Sunday.
• Out of the monthly pay, Rs. 1,000 per month is treated as conveyance expense.
• You also get mobile charge reimbursement of Rs. 1,000 per month.
• The pay is all-inclusive and based on actual duty hours performed.

Selection Process

Selection is done in the following steps:

1. Interview: NABARD Jharkhand Regional Office will conduct an interview of eligible candidates. The Bank may raise the eligibility standards to limit the number of candidates called.
2. Medical Test / Fitness Certificate: Shortlisted candidates must clear a medical test or submit a Medical Fitness Certificate before engagement.
3. Final Engagement: The selected doctor is engaged after being found medically fit and after accepting the terms and conditions.

Important Terms to Know

• The pay is all-inclusive and based on the actual duty hours you perform.
• If you cannot attend on any day, you must arrange a substitute (locum) doctor at your own cost, with the Bank's approval.
• You will not be given any residential accommodation by the Bank.
• You need not work on bank holidays, but you should be available "on call" for emergencies.
• NABARD can change the duty hours or dispensary location based on its needs.
• Either side can end the contract with one month's notice.

• Attend the Bank's dispensary at Khelgaon, Ranchi and provide medical care to NABARD staff during dispensary hours
• Give injections, dressings and basic treatment to employees as needed
• Issue credit slips to approved chemists for special or costly drugs when required
• Visit staff members at their residence when the Bank asks
• Refer staff and their families to specialists and certify the need where essential
• Arrange prophylactic inoculations for staff at the Bank's cost when needed
• Carry out medical check-ups and certify fitness of employees and prospective employees
