Mizoram University (MZU) is engaging a Project Associate-I through its Department of Horticulture, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants. The role supports a Department of Biotechnology-funded study on the reproductive biology and conservation of Paris species in Mizoram. This is a hands-on conservation assignment rather than a desk-only research post, with work spanning natural habitats, cultivation sites and university research facilities.

The project looks at how threatened plant populations can be studied, multiplied and restored while also supporting their sustainable use. Your work will connect field observations with practical conservation, including interaction with village communities that may cultivate the species. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The engagement is purely temporary, renewed annually and co-terminus with the DBT project. Continuation depends on the project and the university's decision.
• Employment status: Appointment to the project does not make you an employee of Mizoram University or DBT, and regular university or DBT employee benefits do not apply.
• Exclusive engagement: The selected person cannot take another job during the project tenure.
• Performance monitoring: The Principal Investigator will review progress regularly, and you must provide a monthly progress report. Unsatisfactory progress can lead to early termination on the PI's recommendation.
• Interview format: Shortlisted applicants may attend in offline or online mode. The university will send the schedule directly by email.
• Travel support: No TA or DA is payable for attending the interview.
