All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh is building a technical team for its Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit - Centre of Research Excellence (MRU-CoRE). The work brings laboratory science, clinical research and data handling together, so you should choose the domain that best matches your training rather than treating every opening as the same job. These are project-linked contractual roles, not regular AIIMS appointments.

The unit needs people who can keep research workflows accurate from sample receipt to final records. Biomedical and translational research experience will help because the team works across laboratory and clinical-engineering activities, with close attention to biosafety, documentation and reliable data.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Technical Support-III - Laboratory and Life Sciences: senior technical work in molecular biology, histology, cell culture or general laboratory support, depending on the experience you bring.
• Project Technical Support-III - Data Management: research-data entry, checking, organisation and handling for the MRU-CoRE team.
• Project Technical Support-II - Technician: hands-on molecular biology, histology and general laboratory assistance under the project's senior staff.

Post-wise Duties

Project Technical Support-III - Laboratory and Life Sciences

You may process biological samples, run PCR, RT-PCR, electrophoresis or viability workflows, prepare histology slides, or maintain mammalian cell cultures. Your assigned domain will decide the exact mix, but careful logs, sterile work and equipment upkeep are central to the role.

Project Technical Support-III - Data Management

You will organise research information, check entries and support consistent data handling for the unit. The role suits someone who can keep databases usable, spot missing information and coordinate with laboratory colleagues without losing the audit trail.

Project Technical Support-II - Technician

You will support routine laboratory work such as media preparation, sterilisation, sample labelling, transport and inventory tracking. Clear records and safe bench practice matter because your work feeds directly into the unit's research outputs.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: the first contract runs for eleven months and may be considered again only if the project has approval, budget and satisfactory performance.
• Status: the appointment does not create a claim to regular AIIMS service or regular employee benefits.
• Notice period: either side may end the engagement with one month's notice or the equivalent payment, subject to the contract terms.
• Government employees: staff already working in government, statutory or research bodies need a no-objection certificate through the proper channel; an advance copy may also be sent.
• Attendance and travel: prolonged unauthorised leave can end the engagement, and no travel payment is available for the interview or joining.
