MNIT Jaipur Student Wellness Counsellor Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post
Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It runs UG, PG, and PhD programmes across Engineering, Sciences, Management, Humanities, and Architecture. The Institute is looking for a bright, dynamic counsellor to provide on-campus mental health support to students. The contract runs for 1 year, renewable based on performance.
Who Can Apply?
- Education: PhD or Master's in Psychology, with specialization in Clinical Psychology. You must be registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
- Marks needed: At least 55% marks (or equivalent grade point average) in your qualifying degree from a recognised university or institute.
- Experience: 3 years of relevant experience, made up of:
- 1 year of clinical experience in a Mental Health Centre, AND
- 2 years as a full-time Counsellor (not self-employed)
- Desirable: The 2-year counselling experience in an educational institution. Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with diverse student groups.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 40 years (the notification says "not exceeding 40 years").
- The notification does not specify a minimum age or category-wise relaxation. Check the original advertisement for any updates.
Salary
- Consolidated monthly remuneration: Rs. 50,000.
- No annual increment or percentage hike during the contract period.
- No House Rent Allowance (HRA).

Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to help students cope with academic pressure, personal challenges, and emotional distress
- Offer immediate support and crisis intervention so students get timely help during difficult situations
- Conduct workshops and seminars on stress management, time management, and resilience-building
- Collaborate with the anti-ragging committee and run awareness campaigns to prevent ragging and discrimination on campus
- Collect and analyse data on student wellness and prepare reports to design tailored interventions
- Organise mental health awareness programs, seminars, and in-class events to reduce stigma and promote a culture of well-being
- Maintain office hours of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and stay available round-the-clock for emergency counselling
- Sign and follow the Non-Disclosure Undertaking and maintain strict confidentiality of student information
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
PhD or Master's in Psychology with specialization in Clinical Psychology, RCI registered, with at least 55% marks from a recognised university
Preferred Qualification
Counselling experience in an educational institution
Required Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, empathy, ability to build rapport with diverse student groups, crisis intervention, group counselling, workshop facilitation
