NIT Durgapur Project Staff Recruitment 2026 - 6 Posts
National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NIT Durgapur) first issued Advertisement No. NITD/CK/EE/ANRF/NHPC/ADV/26-27/01 dated 6 April 2026. The extension notice dated 28 April 2026 says the earlier last date of 23 April 2026 has now been extended to 10 May 2026. The work is linked to an ANRF sponsored project and an NHPC sponsored R&D project in electrical engineering.
The projects focus on areas such as partial discharge monitoring, ultra high frequency sensors, high voltage testing, embedded systems, FPGA design, analog and digital electronics, microcontroller programming, and PCB design. These are purely contractual positions, so selected candidates cannot claim regular appointment at NIT Durgapur.
Project duration matters: The original notice says the ANRF sponsored project runs for 36 months and the NHPC sponsored project runs for 24 months. The exact role duration will follow the project and performance review. The notice also says performance may be evaluated every 1 year or 6 months, so selected candidates should be ready for regular project progress review.
Vacancy Breakdown
- Senior Research Fellow / Junior Research Fellow: 1 post under the ANRF sponsored project.
- Project Assistant / Project Associate-I / Project Associate-II / Senior Project Associate: 3 posts under the NHPC sponsored R&D project.
- Student Interns: 2 posts for NIT Durgapur EE/CSE 3rd year students only.
- Total: 6 posts across research, project, and internship roles.
