MMGPA Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Maharashtra Medical Goods Procurement Authority (MMGPA), Mumbai, wants to bring in retired government and semi-government officers as Medical Officers on a contract basis. The authority buys medicines, medical equipment and other medical supplies, and it needs experienced people for tender work, purchases, bill processing, office administration and meetings. The engagement follows the General Administration Department's Government Resolution dated 10 June 2025 on hiring retired officers — this is not a regular post, and only people who have already retired from government or semi-government service can apply.

Selection happens through a walk-in interview at the authority's Mumbai office. Eligible names go onto a panel, and MMGPA engages officers from that panel as and when its work needs them. Getting onto the panel does not guarantee an immediate contract.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Retired officers only: You must have retired from government or semi-government service, and you must be physically and mentally fit for the work.
• Clean service record: No departmental inquiry should be pending or proposed against you, and you should not have been punished in any such inquiry.
• Contract term: Each contract runs for up to one year and can be renewed every year as needed, but the total engagement cannot go beyond three years.
• No powers, no permanency: You will not get any administrative or financial powers, and the contract gives you no claim to regular or permanent government service.
• Pay basis: Your monthly honorarium and allowances are fixed under the GAD resolution of 10 June 2025; the notice does not print a fixed amount.
• Termination: The Chief Executive Officer of MMGPA can end your services without prior notice.
• Authority's discretion: The CEO decides who gets selected, can change the number of posts, and can pause, postpone or cancel the process at any stage.
• No pressure tactics: Anyone who tries to influence the empanelment, directly or indirectly, will be dropped from the selection.

Download the prescribed application format from mmgpa.maharashtra.gov.in, fill it in, and bring it with your documents to the walk-in at Maharashtra Medical Goods Procurement Authority, Arogya Bhavan, First Floor, St. George's Hospital Campus, Mumbai. Reporting time is 11:00 am.

• Keep details ready: The form asks for your age at retirement, your last office, your total experience in related work, any earlier contract service, and whether you are currently working in any government or semi-government body.
• Attendance is a must: If you do not turn up for the interview, you will not be considered.
• Results: The list of shortlisted names will be put up on the authority's notice board and official website after the interviews.
