MKU CSR Project Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) is offering a CSR Project Fellow Junior-I assignment in its Department of Materials Science, School of Chemistry. The fellow will join the UGC-DAE Collaborative Research Scheme project titled High Entropy Alloy Nanoparticles as Next-Generation Plasmonic Materials: Toward Broadband and Stable Optical Metamaterials. This is a focused materials-research opportunity for a recent postgraduate who wants practical experience with an externally funded university project. The project connects nanomaterials, plasmonics and optical metamaterials, giving you a defined research theme rather than a general laboratory assignment.

The work sits within UGC-DAE CSR reference CSR/2025-26/01/1668 and is led by the principal investigator in MKU's School of Chemistry. You should be comfortable learning research methods, keeping clear experimental records and discussing progress with the project team. Your academic background must closely match the project's physics and materials-science focus, because the fellowship is built around laboratory research rather than classroom teaching.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Temporary assignment: The fellowship is tied only to the named UGC-DAE CSR research project and does not create a claim to a regular university post.
  • Project tenure: The assignment can continue for a maximum of three years, with continuation depending on a satisfactory review each year under UGC-DAE rules.
  • Recent degree condition: Your M.Sc. should not be older than three years, as stated in the advertisement.
  • Research fit: The project specifically concerns high-entropy alloy nanoparticles and their use in stable, broadband optical materials, so a strong interest in experimental materials research will help.
  • Interview travel: MKU will not pay TA or DA to candidates who attend the interview.
  • Shortlisting: The university will contact only applicants who meet its screening requirements; sending an application does not guarantee an interview call.

Application Submission Notes

Prepare a plain-paper application with your bio-data and attested certificate copies, then send it to Dr. M. Jeyanthinath, Principal Investigator, UGC-DAE CSR Project, Department of Materials Science, School of Chemistry, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai 625021. Write Application for UGC-DAE CSR Project clearly on the envelope so it reaches the correct project office.

You may also send a soft copy to jeyanthinath.chem@mkuniversity.ac.in. Keep the material focused on your postgraduate training and research exposure, and make sure the certificates support the marks and subject claimed in your bio-data.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out laboratory work related to high-entropy alloy nanoparticles
  • Prepare and characterize materials for the plasmonic research project
  • Keep accurate experimental observations, sample records, and research notes
  • Analyse results and discuss progress with the principal investigator
  • Review relevant research papers on optical and nanomaterial systems
  • Prepare progress summaries and research outputs for project reviews
