Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL) is a Central Public Sector Undertaking under the administrative control of the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. Located at Manali, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, MFL manufactures Ammonia, Urea, Complex Fertilizers, and Bio-fertilizers. For Technical Assistant Trainee - Operations (28 posts):
- You need a full-time 3-year Diploma in Chemical Engineering recognized by AICTE, UGC, or State Technical Board.

- You should have passed the Diploma in 2024 or 2025 only, within the prescribed course duration.
For Technical Assistant Trainee - Mechanical (5 posts):

For Technical Assistant Trainee - Electrical (3 posts):

Salary
- Technical Assistant Trainee (Grade IV): Pay Scale Rs. 24,500-3%-(30). During the one-year training period, you will receive a consolidated stipend equal to Basic Pay + DA + HRA rounded to the next thousand.
- Technician - Rigger/Welder (Grade II): Pay Scale Rs. 21,500-3%-(30). Pay fixed at the minimum of the scale on joining.
- Junior Secretary cum Assistant (Grade III): Pay Scale Rs. 22,500-3%-(30). Pay fixed at the minimum of the scale on joining.
- In addition to Basic Pay, you will receive Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) at 53.4% of basic pay, HRA, Cafeteria Allowance at 33% of basic pay, medical reimbursement, uniform, accident insurance, PRP, Gratuity, PF, and Superannuation benefits.

Selection Process
The selection will be done in the following stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): An online objective-type test consisting of two parts. Part-1 has 30 questions on Aptitude and Reasoning, and Part-2 has 60 questions on Subject Knowledge in the respective discipline. Total duration is 90 minutes. Each correct answer gets 1 mark (Part-1) and 1 mark (Part-2). Negative marking of 0.33 marks per wrong answer in Part-1 and 0.50 marks per wrong answer in Part-2. Questions are in English and Hindi. The CBT will be held at Chennai or other locations within Tamil Nadu.
- Skill / Trade Test (for Post Codes 5, 6, and 7 only): Candidates who clear the CBT for Technician (Rigger), Technician (Welder), and Junior Secretary cum Assistant posts will be called for a Skill/Trade Test at MFL, Chennai. The final merit for these posts is calculated as 75% CBT marks + 25% Skill/Trade Test marks.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present original certificates for verification.
- Medical Examination: Provisionally selected candidates will undergo a pre-employment medical examination by a medical practitioner not below the rank of Civil Surgeon.
Qualifying marks: General, OBC (NCL), and EWS candidates need minimum 50% in CBT. SC/ST/PwBD candidates need minimum 40% to qualify.

Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plant equipment, machinery, and control systems during assigned shifts to ensure safe and efficient production of fertilizers.
- Maintain mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment through preventive and breakdown maintenance activities as per standard operating procedures.
- Follow all safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and quality standards applicable to fertilizer manufacturing operations.
- Prepare shift reports, maintenance logs, and equipment performance records as required by the department.
- Assist senior technical staff and engineers in troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and process deviations.
- Handle rigging, welding, and fabrication work (for Technician posts) to support plant maintenance and construction activities.
- Manage secretarial and administrative tasks (for Junior Secretary posts) including correspondence, filing, CRM tools, shorthand dictation, and office documentation.
- Work in rotating shifts round the clock at the MFL plant area in Manali, Chennai, as per the business requirements.

Exam Pattern
Computer Based Test (CBT) Pattern
The CBT is an objective-type, multiple-choice exam conducted in English and Hindi. You will get 90 minutes to complete the test.
- Part-1 (Aptitude and Reasoning): 30 questions. You get 1 mark for each correct answer and lose 0.33 marks for each wrong answer.
- Part-2 (Subject Knowledge): 60 questions on your respective discipline. You get 1 mark for each correct answer and lose 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Tie-Breaking Rule: If two candidates have equal total marks, the one with higher Part-2 marks will be ranked higher. If still tied, the older candidate gets preference.
