About This Job

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence, is hiring 1 Advisor for its Missile Systems SBU at Bengaluru Complex. This is a contract position for 1 year (extendable based on performance). The role focuses on Surface to Air Missile (SAM) system design, development, and production. Your monthly pay will be your last drawn basic pay at superannuation from your previous government organisation. The last date to apply is 15 April 2026.

BEL, India's premier professional electronics company and a Navratna PSU, has released Advertisement No. 6050/QR/ADV/HR/MS/2025-26 dated 01 April 2026 for the post of Advisor in its Missile Systems SBU. The company is looking for retired officers from Government, PSUs, Research Organisations, Labs, or Defence Forces who have deep experience in Surface to Air Missile systems. This is a hybrid role — you need to work from Bengaluru for at least 8 days per month.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Minimum: B.E / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Preferred: M.E / M.Tech in Digital System

Work Experience

You must be a retired executive from a Government Research Laboratory with the following experience:

• Knowledge of Surface to Air Missile (SAM) systems — including RF Seeker, Ground-based Radar, Control Center, and Launcher
• Proven experience in design and development of on-board missile electrical and electronics systems
• Association with the entire life cycle of SAM systems — design, development, and user acceptance
• Proficiency in technologies like GNC development, 6 DOF trajectory model, Fire Control System, etc.
• Understanding of prerequisites and specifications of SAM system programs and liaison with Armed Forces
• Experience in design, development, production, and AHSP transfer of any major Weapon System developed by DRDO
• Patents in missile sub-assemblies and paper publications are desirable

Pay Scale Requirement

• You should have been in Pay Scale Group 14 or above at the time of retirement

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 62 years
• Age calculated as on: 01 April 2026
• Post-retirement experience in other organisations may be considered for age relaxation

Salary

• Monthly remuneration: Last drawn basic pay at the time of superannuation from your previous Government organisation
• On contract extension, remuneration increases by 5% annually (excluding conveyance component)
• If you gained relevant post-retirement experience, your last drawn pay can be enhanced by an additional 5% per year of post-retirement experience

• Guide and oversee Surface to Air Missile (SAM) system projects from development through testing, deployment, and firing trails
• Collaborate with designer agencies, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customer agencies to ensure seamless integration
• Manage the production process of Surface to Air Missile systems at the SBU
• Establish and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) for SAM systems
• Work with Armed Forces on prerequisites, specifications, and future requirements for SAM programs

• Monitor the functionality and integration of missile electrical and electronics sub-systems
• Assist in technology transfer and AHSP processes for weapon systems
