Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) Sports Club is hiring 54 Sports Trainees across 9 disciplines including Cricket, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi and Volleyball in Mumbai. Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA), which functions under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has released a notification through its Sports Club to engage 54 Sports Trainees across 9 disciplines — Athletics, Shuttle Badminton, Cricket, Carrom, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Table Tennis. There is no written exam — trainees are chosen purely on their sporting record over the last three seasons. This is a great chance for serious sportspersons who want to train and compete at a high level while earning a stipend and getting free accommodation.

• Table Tennis (Men): 1 post

• Cricket: Wicket-Keeper/Batsman (1), Fast Bowler/Pacer (2), Left-arm Spinner (1), Batsman (4), All-rounder (2)
• Football: Goalkeeper (1), Defender (4), Midfielder (4), Striker (2)
• Hockey: Goalkeeper (1), Defender (2), Forward (5), Midfielder (4)
• Kabaddi: Left Corner (1), Left Cover-Centre (1), Right Corner (1), Left Raider (2), All-rounder (2), Right Cover-Centre (1), Right Raider (2)
• Volleyball: Smasher (1), Center Blocker (1), Lifter (1), All-rounder (1), Libero (1)

Who Can Apply?

• Discipline: You must be a competitive sportsperson in one of the 9 disciplines listed above.
• Sports Record: You should have represented at one of these levels during 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26 — India in an International Tournament, your State in a National Tournament, your District in a State Tournament, a combined University team in a National/University event, or your University in an Inter-University tournament.
• Club Level: Playing for a Maidan/Corporate Club in the 'A' Division (Cricket) or the Super/Elite Division (Hockey, Football, Kabaddi, Volleyball) also qualifies you for trials.
• Medical Fitness: You must get a medical fitness certificate from the Chief Medical Officer, MbPA, before final engagement.

Age Limit

• You should be at least 18 years old as on 01 September 2026 and not more than 25 years old as on 30 June 2027.
• No age relaxation — upper or lower — is allowed for any category.

Salary

• Selected Sports Trainees get a stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month for the full 8-month contract.
• You also get a one-time Kit & Gear allowance of Rs. 10,000.
• Free shared accommodation is provided in Port Quarters.
• You get Mediclaim with Accident Insurance worth Rs. 7,500 for the year.

This is a purely temporary, contractual engagement for 8 months and does not give you any claim to regular or permanent employment with the Port.

Application Fee

• All candidates: Rs. 200, payable by Demand Draft in favour of "Mumbai Port Trust Sports Club".

Payment mode: Demand Draft only, submitted along with your application form.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection happens in the following stages:

1. Eligibility Screening: Your sports achievements from 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 are checked against the required representation level.
2. Selection Trials: Shortlisted candidates are called for trials in their discipline.
3. Merit Selection: Final selection is based on your achievements and trial performance.
4. Medical Examination: You must clear a medical fitness check by the Chief Medical Officer, MbPA.

You will also need to sign a surety bond of Rs. 10,000 promising not to play for any other club or organisation during your engagement with MbPA Sports Club.

2. Fill in your personal details and tick the discipline you are applying for.
3. Attach self-attested photocopies of your sports achievement certificates, Aadhaar Card and PAN Card.
4. Attach a Demand Draft of Rs. 200 in favour of "Mumbai Port Trust Sports Club".
5. Submit the sealed envelope in person at the MbPA Sports Club office (3rd Floor, Imperial Chambers, S.S. Taloni Marg, Ballard Estate, Mumbai-400 001) between 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on any working day, or send it by post so it reaches before the deadline.

• Attend daily training and practice sessions as per the coach's schedule
• Represent Mumbai Port Authority Sports Club in departmental, inter-port and other recognised tournaments
• Maintain peak physical fitness and follow the prescribed training regime
• Take part in selection trials and internal matches when called
• Follow the discipline, code of conduct and rules of the Sports Club
• Keep your sports gear, kit and Port property in good condition
• Report injuries or fitness issues promptly to the team management
• Support junior players and contribute to team building activities
