Who Can Apply?
Technical Assistant - Mechanical / Chemical (Level 7):
- You need a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with First Class from a recognized State Board or Institution.
Technician B - Electronic Mechanic / Fitter, and Draughtsman B - Mechanical (Level 3):
- You need to have passed SSLC/SSC along with an ITI/NTC/NAC certificate in the relevant trade from NCVT.
Fireman A (Level 2):
- You need to have passed SSLC/SSC and meet the prescribed physical fitness and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) standards.
- You must submit a Preliminary Medical Examination (PME) Certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner (not below the rank of Assistant Civil Surgeon, Allopathy) along with your application.
- Nationality: Only Indian citizens can apply.
- You can apply for more than one post, but you must submit a separate application for each post.
Age Limit
- Minimum age is 18 years for all posts.
- Maximum age (as on 4 September 2026) is 35 years for Technical Assistant, Technician B and Draughtsman B posts, and 25 years for Fireman A.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years' relaxation and OBC candidates get 3 years' relaxation on posts reserved for them. Relaxation is not applicable to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against unreserved posts.
- Additional relaxation applies for Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Departmental candidates, Meritorious sportspersons, and Widows/Divorced/Judicially separated women as per Government of India orders.
Salary
- Technical Assistant (Level 7): Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month.
- Technician B / Draughtsman B (Level 3): Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month.
- Fireman A (Level 2): Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
- You will also get medical facilities for self and dependents, subsidized canteen, House Building Advance, Leave Travel Concession, National Pension System/Unified Pension Scheme and other benefits as per Central Government rules.
Application Fee
- Technical Assistant (Post 813 & 814): Pay Rs. 750 initially. General/OBC/EWS candidates are refunded Rs. 500 (net fee Rs. 250); Female, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates get a full refund.
- Technician B, Draughtsman B and Fireman A (Post 802, 815, 816 & 817): Pay Rs. 500 initially. General/OBC/EWS candidates are refunded Rs. 400 (net fee Rs. 100); Female, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates get a full refund.
- Payment mode: Online only, through the LPSC recruitment portal. The fee refund is credited online only to candidates who appear for the written test.
- Last date for fee payment: 7 September 2026, 1400 hrs.
Selection Process
For Technical Assistant, Technician B and Draughtsman B posts (813-817), selection has 2 stages:
- Written Test: 80 MCQs for 80 marks in 90 minutes. Negative marking of 0.33 marks per wrong answer. Syllabus is curriculum-based, covering theoretical and practical knowledge of your trade.
- Skill Test: Candidates are shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio (minimum 10) based on written test marks. The skill test is qualifying (go/no-go) — final merit is based purely on written test marks among candidates who clear the skill test.
Qualifying marks: Unreserved candidates need 32/80 in the written test and 50/100 in the skill test. Reserved category candidates need 24/80 and 40/100 respectively. EWS candidates are assessed on the same standard as Unreserved candidates.
For Fireman A (Post 802), selection has 3 stages:
- Written Test: 80 MCQs for 80 marks in 120 minutes, covering basic chemistry, LPG properties, mensuration, electrical safety and general knowledge. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Conducted in 2 stages on a go/no-go basis for candidates shortlisted in up to a 1:50 ratio based on written test marks.
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
The written test and skill test will be held at Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) only. No travel allowance is paid for the written test; outstation candidates called for the skill test/PET get 2nd class rail/bus fare.

Responsibilities
- Carry out fitting, forging, rolling and assembly work on mechanical and propulsion system hardware
- Support integration, testing and quality inspection of rocket engine components
- Prepare technical drawings, schematics and bills of materials as per drawing standards
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot process and electronic equipment used in propulsion testing
- Handle propellant servicing and chemical process operations under supervision
- Respond to fire emergencies, carry out fire prevention activities and stand by for fire safety duty
- Maintain records of materials, procurement and process documentation
- Follow safety protocols while working with hazardous chemicals, gases and rocket propellants
