Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC), under the National Health Mission (NHM) and 15th Finance Commission scheme, is hiring 7 Medical Officers on a contract basis for its urban health centres in Kolhapur city. These positions are part of the NHM initiative to strengthen primary healthcare services across urban areas. No written exam is required — selection is purely through walk-in interview. Note: If sufficient candidates from reserved categories are not available, eligible candidates from the open category waiting list may be temporarily appointed.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must hold an MBBS degree from a recognized university or institution.
• Registration: Valid registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) or any recognized medical council is mandatory.
• Experience: Both freshers and experienced doctors are eligible to apply.
• Criminal Record: You should not have any pending criminal case. If any criminal case comes to light after appointment, the appointment will be cancelled.
• Retired Govt Officers: Retired government medical officers can also apply. They must provide a physical and mental fitness certificate from the District Surgeon and should not have any pending departmental enquiry.

Age Limit

• Maximum age limit is 70 years.
• There is no minimum age mentioned, but you must have completed your MBBS degree.

Salary

• Selected Medical Officers will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs. 60,000.
• This is a consolidated payment on a contractual basis under the 15th Finance Commission guidelines.
• The honorarium structure follows the NHM Joint Director's letter dated 16/01/2017.

Selection Process

1. Walk-in Interview: Eligible candidates must appear for a walk-in interview held every Monday at 3:00 PM at the NUHM Office, 2nd Floor, Shri Panchganga Hospital, Kolhapur.
2. Document Verification: Your original documents will be verified during the interview process. You must carry all original certificates along with attested photocopies.

The selection committee's decision regarding eligibility, acceptance or rejection, and selection method is final. No correspondence regarding the decision will be entertained.

• Provide primary healthcare services and OPD consultations to patients at the assigned Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) under Kolhapur Municipal Corporation.
• Diagnose and treat common illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions presenting at the health centre.
• Prescribe medicines and recommend further tests or specialist referrals when needed.
• Conduct health awareness camps and participate in community outreach programmes under the National Health Mission.
• Maintain accurate medical records, patient registers, and submit monthly reports to the NUHM office.
• Follow all protocols and guidelines issued by the National Health Mission and the 15th Finance Commission health programme.
• Assist in immunization drives, disease surveillance, and maternal-child health programmes within the assigned urban area.
• Work closely with ANMs, staff nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure smooth operations at the health centre.
