Kerala PSC is hiring 1 Clerk-Typist for the Thrissur district under various departments. This is a Special Recruitment for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates of Kerala only. Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) Clerk-Typist Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) has released Notification No. 061/2026 for one Clerk-Typist post in the Thrissur district. This is a Special Recruitment only for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates of Kerala — applications from other communities will be rejected. The Commission will prepare a district-wise ranked list for Thrissur that stays valid for at least one year and up to three years.

Selection is done on a revenue district basis. A candidate advised for appointment in one district cannot be transferred to another district until they complete five years of continuous service. Candidates already in Government service and holding this post in one district cannot apply for the same post in another district, but they can apply for higher posts when notified. Vacancies arising at the Headquarters will also be filled from this ranked list, so you do not need to give a separate option for that. This is a good permanent job for SC/ST candidates who have finished their typewriting and computer certificates.

Who Can Apply?

• Community: Only Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates of Kerala State can apply.
• Qualification: A pass in SSLC or an equivalent qualification.
• Typewriting: Lower Grade Certificate in Malayalam Typewriting (KGTE) or equivalent.
• Typewriting + Computer: Lower Grade Certificate in English Typewriting (KGTE) and Computer Word Processing or equivalent.
• Those who passed KGTE Typewriting before January 2002 must hold a separate Computer Word Processing certificate at the time of application. Typewriting certificates are accepted only from the Government, not from private institutes.
• Ex-servicemen: Malayalam Typewriting is not compulsory for ex-servicemen who have completed normal service, but they must acquire it before completing probation if selected. Long clerical service in the defence forces is treated as a sufficient qualification under the rules.
• Linguistic minority candidates: Those whose first language in SSLC was a language other than Malayalam may apply even without Malayalam Typewriting (Lower), but must acquire it before completing probation.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old as on 1 January 2026. Only candidates born between 02.01.1981 and 01.01.2008 (both dates included) can apply.
• Age Relaxation: If there are no qualified candidates within the age limit, the upper age limit can be relaxed up to 50 years. In no case will the maximum age go above 50 years.

Salary

• The pay scale for this post is Rs. 26,500 to Rs. 60,700 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection is based on your merit rank in the district-wise ranked list:

1. Written / OMR / Online Test (if conducted): If the Commission holds a test, you must submit a confirmation through your One Time Registration profile. Only candidates who confirm can generate and download the admission ticket in the last 15 days before the test.
2. Ranked List: A ranked list is prepared for the Thrissur district based on merit.
3. Document Verification: You must produce original certificates for qualification, typewriting, age and community when the Commission calls for them.

2. Log in to your profile using your User-ID and password.
