Kerala HC Office Attendant Recruitment 2026: Overview

The High Court of Kerala at Kochi is filling Office Attendant posts through direct recruitment under Recruitment No. 21/2026. This is a regular post in the High Court's own establishment, and the selection is run by its Recruitment and Examination Cell. The notice is unusual in one way: it is meant only for candidates who have passed SSLC but have not gone on to graduate. If you hold a degree, you cannot apply, however well you might do in the test.

The vacancy figure is anticipated, and more openings that come up while the ranked list is alive will also be filled from the same list. So even a rank slightly below the notified count can turn into an appointment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Graduates are barred: You must not hold a graduation degree on the closing date of the online application. If you are shortlisted for the interview, you will have to give an affidavit confirming this.
  • Qualification cut-off: Every qualification you claim must be in hand by the closing date of the online application. If you claim an equivalent qualification, keep the Government order declaring it equivalent ready; equivalence orders issued after this notification will not count.
  • Ranked list life: The ranked list stays in force for at least one year and continues until a fresh list is published or two years pass, whichever comes first.
  • Disability reservation: 4% of the vacancies are kept for differently abled candidates with blindness or low vision, deafness or hard of hearing, locomotor disability (with at least one functional arm and leg), autism, mild intellectual disability, specific learning disability, mental illness, or a combination of these. The job needs sitting, standing, walking, finger manipulation and seeing.
  • Disability certificate: If you claim age relaxation as a differently abled candidate, you must produce a job-oriented physical and functionality certificate under G.O.(P) No. 5/2023/SJD at certificate verification.
  • Community reservation: Appointments follow the reservation rules in Part II of the Kerala State and Subordinate Services Rules, 1958. Community, non-creamy layer and EWS certificates must be valid on the closing date or on the verification date.
  • Government employees: Mention your service in the online form and get a No Objection Certificate from your Head of Office; failing to produce it when asked cancels your candidature.
  • Exam centre: The written test is held at Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode. Your centre choice cannot be changed later, and the High Court may still allot a different centre.
  • Scribe and extra time: Differently abled candidates whose writing speed is affected can ask for a scribe in the online form, and get 25 minutes of compensatory time on producing the medical certificate.
