Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline plus a Master's degree in Mathematics with at least 55% marks (or equivalent), recognized by Kerala Agricultural University.
• NET/PhD: You need to have qualified NET conducted by ASRB/ICAR/UGC-CSIR/AICTE (or a similar UGC-accredited test), or hold a PhD awarded as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016. Candidates with a PhD from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 globally (QS, THE, or ARWU rankings) are also considered exempt from NET.
• If you registered for your PhD before 11 July 2009, the NET/SLET/SET exemption for you will be governed by the university's rules that were in force at that time, rather than the newer 2016 UGC Regulations.
• Relaxed norm: If enough NET-qualified or PhD candidates are not available, PG candidates in Mathematics will also be considered for this post.
• Desirable: Working knowledge of Malayalam (read and write) and a PhD in Mathematics are preferred but not mandatory.
• You must have your prescribed qualification ready as on the date of the interview itself.

Age Limit

• You should not be over 50 years of age as on 01 January 2026.
• You must be an Indian citizen to be eligible for this post.
• Age and applicable reservation/relaxation will be governed by the KAU Statute and UGC Regulations 2018.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 44,100 per month. This amount is fixed and not part of a regular UGC pay scale.
• You will be eligible for one casual leave per month, up to a maximum of 10 days per year.
• This is a purely provisional, contract-based appointment and does not give you any claim to permanency or regularization in KAU.
• The University can terminate your contract if your performance is found unsatisfactory, and you can resign by giving one month's prior notice.
• If selected, you will be required to perform all duties attached to the post, as assigned by the Head of the Institution, in line with the KAU Act, Statutes, and Regulations.

Selection Process

Selection happens in the following stages:

1. Written Screening Test (if needed): If a large number of candidates turn up, KCAEFT will first hold a written screening test to shortlist candidates for the interview.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at KCAEFT, Tavanur on 20 August 2026. You must bring your bio-data (Annexure-I format), original certificates, and self-attested copies proving date of birth, caste, educational qualification, experience, and equivalency certificate (if you are from a university other than KAU). Copies of any peer-reviewed publications should also be produced.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. If selected, you will need to sign an agreement on a Rs. 200 stamp paper before joining.
