Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) Multi-Post Recruitment 2026 - 518 Posts

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 08 of 2026 for 518 UT/Divisional/District cadre posts spread across the Agriculture Production, Health and Medical Education, Higher Education, and Labour and Employment departments. This is one of the biggest paramedical recruitment drives from JKSSB this year, with 421 of the 518 posts in the Health and Medical Education Department alone, covering nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians and health workers. Candidates with a Matric, 10+2, or Graduate qualification along with the required diploma or training can apply for the post that matches their qualification.

Who Can Apply?

Junior Pharmacist (Level-4, Rs. 25,500-81,100) - 211 posts:

• You need a minimum 10+2 with Science and a Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institute.

Junior Staff Nurse (Level-4) - 48 posts:

• You need 10+2 with Science and a Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institute.

Junior Laboratory Assistant (Level-2, Rs. 19,900-63,200) - 48 posts:

• You need a Graduation in Science. Preference is given to candidates with a Post Graduate Diploma in a professional Lab Course in Chemistry or another Science subject.

FMPHW (Level-2) - 46 posts:

• You need 10+2 with Science and a Diploma in FMPHW from a recognized institute.

Horticulture Technician Grade-IV (SL-2, Rs. 15,900-50,400) - 45 posts:

• You need 10+2 with one year of Basic Horticulture training.

Junior Lab Technician (Level-4) - 40 posts:

• You need Matric or above with a minimum two-year diploma in Lab Technician course, or a degree in Lab Technology.

MMPHW (Level-2) - 19 posts:

• You need Matric or above with at least one year Diploma in MMPHW.

Junior Ophthalmic Technician (Level-4) - 17 posts:

• You need Matric or above with a Degree or Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician course.

Health Educator (Level-6, Rs. 35,400-1,12,400) - 15 posts:

• You need a Graduation with Science from any recognized university.

Sanitary Inspector (Level-6D, Rs. 35,800-1,13,200) - 14 posts:

• You need 10+2 or above with a minimum two-year Diploma in Sanitation and Public Health.

Junior Theatre Technician (Level-4) - 10 posts:

• You need Matric or above with a Degree or Diploma in Operational Theatre Technology.

Supervisor (Level-2) - 3 posts:

• You need Matriculation or an equivalent examination.

Senior Canning Attendant (Level-2) - 1 post:

• You need Matric or equivalent with six months of training in Fruit Preservation.

Para Medical Assistant (Level-4) - 1 post:

• You need 10+2 with a Diploma in Para Medical Assistant course.

All candidates must hold a valid Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, issued on or before the cut-off date of 9 October 2026.

Age Limit

• Open Merit (OM) candidates should be up to 40 years old as on 01 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS and OBC candidates can apply up to 43 years.
• PwBD: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities can apply up to 42 years.
• Ex-Servicemen: can deduct their length of Armed Forces service from their actual age, subject to a maximum relaxation of 3 years beyond the prescribed limit.

Salary

• Pay ranges from Rs. 15,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month (Pay Level SL-2/Level-2) for Horticulture Technician Grade-IV, FMPHW, MMPHW, Junior Laboratory Assistant, Supervisor and Senior Canning Attendant.
• Pay ranges from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month (Level-4) for Junior Pharmacist, Junior Staff Nurse, Junior Lab Technician, Junior Theatre Technician, Junior Ophthalmic Technician and Para Medical Assistant.
• Pay ranges from Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month (Level-6) for Health Educator, and Rs. 35,800 to Rs. 1,13,200 per month (Level-6D) for Sanitary Inspector.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per J&K Government rules.

Application Fee

• General / Open Merit: Rs. 600
• SC / ST-1 / ST-2 / EWS / PwBD: Rs. 500

• Fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other exam.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written Exam (OMR-Based): Objective type Multiple Choice Questions in English language only, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Merit for every post is based purely on this exam.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must bring original certificates for qualification, domicile and category proof.
