About This Job

JKPSC has invited applications for 80 Junior Scale posts in J&K Administrative Service, J&K Police (G) Service, and J&K Accounts (G) Service through the Combined Competitive Examination 2025. Candidates who qualified the CCE Preliminary Exam 2025 and hold a Bachelor's Degree can apply online. Last date to apply is 09 March 2026. Pay Scale is Level 8 (Rs. 47,600 - 1,51,100).

The Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is conducting the Combined Competitive (Main) Examination 2025 to fill 80 vacancies across three prestigious civil services of the Union Territory. If you cleared the JKPSC CCE Prelims 2025, this is your gateway to a rewarding career in J&K's administrative machinery with a pay scale of Rs. 47,600 to Rs. 1,51,100 per month.

Post NameVacancies
Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service (KAS)35
J&K Police (Gazetted) Service30
J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service15
  • Total 80 posts spread across Open Merit (32), RBA (7), SC (7), ST-1 (9), ST-2 (9), LAC/IB (2), OBC (7), and EWS (7) categories
  • Only J&K domicile holders who cleared the JKPSC CCE Preliminary Examination 2025 are eligible to apply for the Mains
  • Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized university is the minimum qualification required
  • Age limit ranges from 32 to 35 years depending on your category, calculated as on 1st January 2025
  • Exam centres will be located in Jammu and Srinagar only

The selection process follows the classic civil services pattern. First, candidates sit for the Written Main Examination consisting of 8 papers worth a total of 1,750 marks. This includes an English qualifying paper, an Essay paper, four General Studies papers, and two Optional Subject papers. Candidates who score above the cutoff in Mains are then called for a Personality Test (Interview) carrying 250 marks. Your final ranking is based on the combined Mains and Interview score out of 2,000 marks.

  1. Pick your optional subject wisely -- it carries 500 marks (two papers of 250 each), which is a significant chunk of your total score. Choose a subject you genuinely enjoy studying
  2. Focus on answer writing practice -- the Mains is entirely descriptive, so structured answers with clear introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions will score higher
  3. Do not skip the Ethics paper (GS-IV) -- this paper often has the highest scoring potential if you practice case studies regularly
  4. Revise current affairs specific to J&K -- questions on UT-specific governance, development schemes, and local issues are common in GS papers
  • J&K Domicile Certificate -- must be valid on the cut-off date
  • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/RBA/LAC) -- must be in the format prescribed under J&K Reservation Act 2004
  • Bachelor's Degree Certificate or provisional certificate from a recognized university
  • Date of Birth Certificate (Matriculation certificate)
  • Passport-size Photographs -- taken not earlier than 01 January 2025, JPEG format, 10-20 KB
  • Signature Scan -- JPEG format, 10-20 KB
  • Photo ID Proof -- Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, or Passport
  • EWS Certificate in Form XIV-A of SRO-518 dated 02.09.2019 -- no other format will be accepted

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage district-level governance as part of the J&K Administrative Service cadre
  • Handle law and order management, crime investigation oversight, and public safety as J&K Police (Gazetted) Service officers
  • Manage financial accounts, auditing, and fiscal oversight for UT government departments under J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service
  • Implement government policies, welfare schemes, and development programs at the grassroots level
  • Coordinate with central and state agencies for effective governance of the Union Territory
