JKSSB Class-IV (MTS) Recruitment 2026: Overview
Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 09 of 2026 to fill Class-IV (Multi-Tasking Staff) and Sanitation Worker posts against indents from the General Administration Department, covering the UT, Divisional and District cadres. The vacancies are spread across departments such as Agriculture Production, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Estates, Transport, Culture, Higher Education and Public Works (R&B) — Public Works (R&B) alone accounts for the largest single share of posts in this drive. This is one of the biggest entry-level recruitment drives JKSSB has run in recent years, and candidates who meet the qualification and domicile conditions can apply.
Posts and Disciplines
- Class-IV (MTS): multitasking staff posts spread across the UT, Divisional and District cadres in departments like Public Works (R&B), Agriculture Production, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Higher Education and Culture.
- Sanitation Worker: posts mainly under the Estates Department at the UT and Divisional cadre, with a few postings in Animal/Sheep Husbandry and ARI & Trainings; these posts are not offered at the District cadre level.
Post-wise Duties

You will handle general office support work — moving files, assisting with records, and running day-to-day errands for the office you are posted in.

Service Conditions and Caveats

- Qualification cap: candidates whose qualification is higher than 10+2 are not eligible for these posts.
- Cadre and department allocation: you must indicate your cadre and department preferences in the application; the Board's final allocation, based on merit-cum-preference, is binding and cannot be changed later.
- Reservation: category-wise reservation applies as per J&K Reservation Rules, with horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.
- Age relaxation: reserved categories, Ex-Servicemen and long-serving casual workers get additional age relaxation — check the notification's category-wise table before applying.
- No TA/DA: the Board will not pay any travel allowance for appearing in the written test or Document Verification.
- Provisional candidature: your selection stays provisional until your documents are verified; any mismatch found later, even after joining, can cancel your candidature.
