JIPMER Project Technical Support-III Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry is looking for a qualified Senior Laboratory Assistant to work on an externally funded research project. The project focuses on next-generation sequencing and urinary steroid profiling in individuals with Differences in Sex Development (DSD), funded by the Endocrine Society of India. This is a hands-on laboratory role where you will handle blood and urine samples, assist with mass spectrometry, and coordinate with IIT Roorkee. The initial appointment is for 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on your performance.

Who Can Apply?

Option 1 (B.Sc. Route):

• Education: 12th Pass in Science subjects plus a B.Sc. in Medical Lab Technology (or equivalent relevant field)
• Experience: At least 3 years of work experience in a medical laboratory

Option 2 (Diploma Route):

• Education: 2-year Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT)
• Experience: At least 4 years of work experience in a medical laboratory

Desirable Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with mass spectrometry equipment
• Proficiency in computer applications including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (documentary proof required)
• Fluency in Tamil and English (both spoken and written)
• Experience in sample collection from pediatric cases

Note: Your experience must have been gained after acquiring the essential qualification.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications (10 April 2026).
• Age relaxation may be granted at the discretion of the Principal Investigator.

Salary

• You will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 28,000 per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per ICMR rules.
• No other allowances or facilities beyond the consolidated salary will be provided.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in 3 stages:

1. Document Verification: Your credentials will be verified on 13 April 2026 at 9:00 AM.
2. Written Test: Scheduled for 13 April 2026 at 10:00 AM. The test will cover core lab techniques (sample collection, processing, basic hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, ELISA/PCR basics) and GCLP compliance (quality control, biosafety, documentation, and data handling).
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the written test will be interviewed in the afternoon on the same day. Timing will be announced after the written test results.

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the written test and interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending.
