JIPMER Project Technician III Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry has released advertisement No. JIP/MICRO/Recruit/2026/4 for one Project Technician III post on a contract basis. The post is for an ICMR-funded project titled "Pan India surveillance for respiratory viruses through DHR-ICMR VRDL Network". Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised university plus 3 years of experience in the relevant field, OR
• PG (Master's) in the Department of Microbiology / Biotechnology / Virology.

Desirable

• One year of work experience in molecular techniques, especially real-time PCR, virus isolation, and next-generation sequencing.
• Experience in a BSL-2 laboratory or higher and cell culture techniques.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years (as on the last date of receipt of applications).

Salary

• Consolidated salary: Rs. 28,000 per month + 20% HRA (about Rs. 33,600 per month in total).
• No other allowances or facilities are payable.
• The post is for a fixed duration of 1 year and is funded by the project.

Selection Process

Only shortlisted candidates will be called. The selection has two stages:

1. Written Test (80 marks): The syllabus is at B.Sc level. No negative marking for wrong answers.
2. Interview (20 marks): Conducted in person or by video conferencing, as decided by the Project Investigator.

If you are shortlisted, you will get an email about the online screening test. The shortlist for interview will be posted on the JIPMER website.
