JIPMER Project Technical Support-I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, has advertised for 1 Project Technical Support-I position on a contractual basis under the ICMR-funded research project titled "Investigative Centre of Advanced Research in Endotypes of T1D (i-CARE-T1D)". This is a national referral centre project for research in Type 1 Diabetes, led by Dr. Sadishkumar Kamalanathan in the Department of Endocrinology. The initial appointment is for 6 months, with extension based on performance and ICMR approval. Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification (Option A):

• Education: 10th in Science with Diploma in MLT/DMLT or equivalent
• Experience: 2 years of experience in the relevant subject or field

Essential Qualification (Option B):

• Education: Three-year Graduate degree in a relevant subject or field
• Experience: 1 year of experience in the relevant subject or field

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in sample collection in pediatric cases
• Knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internet programs) with documentary proof
• Fluency in Tamil and English (both oral and written)
• Experience in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Cell Biology

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 28 years (as on the last date of receipt of applications, i.e., 10 April 2026)
• Age relaxation may be considered at the discretion of the Principal Investigator

Salary

• Consolidated salary: Rs. 18,000 per month + HRA (as per ICMR rules)
• No other allowances or facilities beyond the consolidated salary will be provided
• Salary may vary from time to time as per project funding norms

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 3 stages:

1. Document Verification: Your credentials will be verified on 13 April 2026 at 9:00 AM
2. Written Test: Scheduled for 13 April 2026 at 10:00 AM. The test covers core lab techniques (sample collection and processing, basic hematology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, biochemistry, microbiology, ELISA/PCR basics) and GCLP compliance (quality control, biosafety, documentation, and data handling)
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the written test will face an interview on the same day (afternoon session; timing will be announced after written test results)

• Collect blood and urine samples from study subjects for the i-CARE-T1D research project
• Handle sample centrifugation, separation, storage, and transportation to IIT Roorkee as per schedule
• Assist in mass spectrometry procedures at the laboratory
• Coordinate project activities with partner research centres across the country
• Explain research procedures to participants and collect informed consent
• Perform data entry, compilation, and documentation for the project
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned towards project activities by the Principal Investigator
