JIPMER, Puducherry has invited applications for 1 Project Nurse II post under the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM), for the ICMR-funded project \"COMPASS\" (Community-Oriented Model of Patient Navigation System) for cancer patients. This is a contract position initially for 6 months, extendable based on project funding and your performance. Tamil language fluency is mandatory, and the role involves field visits to hospitals and community sites. JIPMER is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, known for advanced patient care, medical education, and research. This project post sits within the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM), led by Principal Investigator Dr. Mahalakshmy T, and aims to improve outcomes and care experiences for cancer patients through a community-based patient navigation model over a 3-year project duration.

The full project title is "Improving Patient Reported Outcome and Care Experiences along the Cancer Care Continuum through Community-Oriented Model of Patient Navigation System (COMPASS): A Hybrid II Implementation Study", funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

As a Project Nurse II, you will:

• Identify and enrol study participants at hospitals, health centres, and in the community
• Work as a hospital navigator supporting cancer patients through their care journey
• Assist with informed consent, study documentation, data collection, and data entry
• Coordinate with the health system for smooth project implementation

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Minimum second-class (or equivalent CGPA) in a 3-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course, OR a B.Sc Nursing degree.
• Desirable Experience: Work experience in clinical research projects, MS-Word/Excel/PowerPoint skills, health-related field data collection experience, and a Masters degree including MPH.
• Language: You must be fluent in Tamil and willing to travel for fieldwork.
• Your experience must be in a relevant discipline at a reputed institution or organization, and gained after acquiring your essential qualification.
• Qualification, experience, and other terms may be relaxed or altered at the discretion of the Principal Investigator.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 30 years as on the last date of receipt of applications.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 20,000 plus 18% HRA, totalling around Rs. 24,000 per month.
• This is a fixed consolidated salary — no other allowances or facilities will be provided.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Written Test: Covers survey methods, interview techniques, health systems, cancer care continuum, community navigation, qualitative research, palliative care, and community engagement.
2. Skill Test: Basic English/Tamil language and aptitude.
3. Interview: Based on the same subjects as the written test.

The tentative interview date is 23 July 2026 at 9:00 AM, conducted online. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

If the institute receives a very large number of applications, it may apply more stringent shortlisting criteria than those listed above, and the decision of the Project Investigator will be final.
