JIPMER Project In-charge (Help Desk) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry has released a notification for the post of Project In-charge (Help Desk) in the Department of Medical Oncology. The post is part of Project AASTHA, a help desk for cancer patients at the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), funded by Doctors For You (NGO). This is a contract post for an initial period of 6 months, extendable up to a total of 3 years based on performance. The selected person will help coordinate patient care, insurance navigation, and psychosocial support at JIPMER.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification (any one of the following):

• Masters in Social Work (MSW) with at least 1 year of experience
• Bachelors in Social Work (BSW) with at least 3 years of experience
• Masters in Nursing with relevant experience
• Masters in Psycho-oncology

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Prior experience working in government, autonomous body, PSU, or any other recognised organisation
• Proficiency in Tamil and English
• Experience of working in a health care facility, especially Oncology

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years
• Age relaxation may apply as per Project Investigator's discretion.

Salary

• Consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000 per month
• No other allowance or facilities will be extended beyond the consolidated salary.
• Salary may vary from time to time at the discretion of the Project Investigator.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in up to 2 stages:

1. CV Shortlisting: Applications will be screened based on your CV and application form. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email with the date of the test and Walk-in Interview.
2. Written Test and/or Walk-in Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a test and/or interview. The syllabus will be based on the eligibility disciplines and expected roles and responsibilities for the post.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The final selection will be based on CV, application form, and interview performance.

• Supervise and coordinate all project-related activities of subordinate staff under Project AASTHA
• Assist cancer patients with navigation, insurance fund applications, and psychosocial support
• Handle overall OPD work supervision at the Regional Cancer Centre, JIPMER
• Coordinate between JIPMER and Doctors For You NGO for smooth project operations
• Counsel patients and their families on available support services and treatment options
• Maintain records and reports related to patient care activities under the project
• Ensure timely delivery of patient care services as defined under the project scope
