The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has added its vacancies to the AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination-5 (CRE-5) through Addendum No. 23/2026. These 112 posts cover a wide range of roles — from administrative assistants and clerks to lab technologists, pharmacists, engineers and technicians. Who Can Apply?

Eligibility changes by post. Here are the main qualification groups:

Administrative Posts (Pay Level 2)

• Junior Administrative Assistant: 12th class pass plus typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi on computer
• LDC cum Store Keeper: Matriculation (10th) plus typing speed of 30 words per minute in English
• Library Clerk: Matriculation (10th); typing speed of 30 w.p.m. Knowledge of library work is desirable

Lab, Pharmacy and Technical Posts

• Medical Laboratory Technologist: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology plus 2 years relevant experience
• Pharmacist: Degree in Pharmacy with 1 year experience OR Diploma in Pharmacy with 2 years experience, registered under the Pharmacy Act 1948
• Technician (Anaesthesia/OT): Degree in Anaesthesia Technology OR Diploma plus 1 year experience
• X-Ray Technician (Radio-Diagnosis): B.Sc in Radiography/Medical Imaging Technology plus 2 years experience
• X-Ray Technician (Radiotherapy): B.Sc in Radiation/Radiotherapy Technology plus AERB e-LORA registration and 2 years experience
• Audiology Technician: Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) or Hearing Aid and Earmould Technology (DHA&ET) from an RCI-recognised centre

Engineering and Trade Posts

• Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical): Degree in the relevant engineering branch with 2 years experience OR 3-year Diploma with 3 years experience
• Electro Mechanic / Mechanic: Matriculation plus ITI Trade certificate in the relevant trade
• Storekeeper: B.Sc/B.Com/BBA/B.A (Economics) with 2 years experience in store handling

Stenographer and Other Posts

• Stenographer Grade II: 12th class pass plus shorthand dictation at 80 w.p.m and transcription as per skill test norms
• Assistant Dietician: B.Sc (Home Science) with Nutrition plus M.Sc in Food and Nutrition/Dietetics and 2 years experience
• Data Processing Assistant Grade B: B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science/IT OR B.Sc Computer Science/BCA with 1 year experience
• Medical Social Worker: Master's Degree in Social Work with specialisation in Medical Social Work plus 2 years experience

Age Limit

• Most posts have a maximum age of 25 to 35 years, depending on the role (for example, up to 25 years for LDC and trade posts, up to 30 years for most technical posts, and up to 35 years for Medical Social Worker).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC candidates get 3 years, and PwBD candidates get 10 years relaxation as per Central Government rules.

Salary

• Pay Level 2: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month (LDC, Junior Administrative Assistant, trade posts)
• Pay Level 4: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month (Stenographer, Storekeeper, Audiology Technician, Technician CSSD)
• Pay Level 5: Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month (Pharmacist, Perfusion Assistant, Medical Photographer)
• Pay Level 6: Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month (Medical Lab Technologist, Junior Engineer, Technician, X-Ray Technician, Medical Social Worker)
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Application Fee

• General / OBC: Rs. 3,000 per group applied
• SC / ST / EWS: Rs. 2,400 per group applied
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): No fee
• Payment mode: Online only

Selection Process

Selection is done in these stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 multiple-choice questions for 400 marks. Each correct answer gives 4 marks, with negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. The exam tests general aptitude and post-specific professional knowledge.
2. Skill Test / Typing Test: For posts like Junior Administrative Assistant, LDC, Stenographer and Library Clerk, a typing or shorthand skill test is held after the CBT.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce all original certificates.

Qualifying marks: 40% for UR/EWS, 35% for OBC and 30% for SC/ST.
