The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, has released Advertisement No. JIP/IEC/2023/10/103/2026/02 for recruiting a Data Entry Operator under the ICMR-BCSS project titled "Designing and Implementation of Health Care Model in Patients with Stage 2 Breast Cancer". This is a 1-year contract position in the Department of Medical Oncology under the guidance of Dr. Biswajit Dubashi, Professor. Note: The original walk-in date of April 6, 2026 has been rescheduled to May 6, 2026 due to the election Model Code of Conduct.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Application (BCA) / IT / Computer Sciences
• OR Diploma in Computer Application / IT / Computer Sciences with at least 2 years of experience

Desirable Qualification

• Experience in MS Office Suite and data entry using REDCap
• Prior experience working in government, autonomous, PSU or any other recognized organization
• Typing speed of not less than 8,000 key depressions per hour on a computer
• Proficiency in Tamil and English — Speaking, Reading and Writing

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years as on the last date of receipt of applications
• SC/ST candidates: Upper age relaxation up to 5 years (max 35 years)
• OBC/Women candidates: Upper age relaxation up to 3 years (max 33 years)

Salary

• Consolidated salary: Rs 29,200 per month
• No other allowances or facilities are payable apart from the consolidated salary
• The salary may vary from time to time based on project funding

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will go through two stages:

1. Written Test — covers the following areas:
   • Concept of Electronic Data Processing
   • Data entry best practices and accuracy
   • Data validation and quality checks
   • Basics of databases and data storage
   • Formatting, tables, and document editing using MS Word
   • Data entry, formulas, sorting, filtering, and pivot tables in MS Excel
2. Interview — covers the following areas:
   • Knowledge of data capturing
   • Understanding of cancer research and GCP Principles
   • Communication skills
   • Aptitude for the role

• Maintain accuracy and completeness of all data entries in the project database
• Work with REDCap or similar data management tools for electronic data capture
• Follow Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles while handling patient data
• Assist the research team with data validation and quality checks
• Prepare periodic data reports and summaries as required by the PI
• Manage documentation and filing of project-related records
