The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Chennai Centre — an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India — has announced a walk-in interview to fill 1 Project Assistant post at its Computer Science Unit. The position is for the research project titled "An Algebraic Study of Strategy Compositions". No online application is needed — you simply need to attend the walk-in interview with your documents. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an M.E./MCA/M.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Information Technology, OR an M.Sc. in Statistics/Applied Statistics and Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Electronics or Computer Science.
• Class Requirement: You must have secured First Class throughout your academic career.
• Desirable: Good knowledge of Algebra, Category Theory and Game Theory will help your candidature. Candidates with higher qualifications and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 35 years as on 22 July 2026 (the interview date).
• Age Relaxation: Usual relaxation as per Government of India rules will apply. Age relaxation may also be given to outstanding candidates or candidates with relevant experience.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 31,000 to Rs. 36,000 per month, depending on your qualification and experience.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview or for joining the post.

Selection Process

Selection is done through a walk-in process, in 2 stages:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 22 July 2026 at 11:00 AM at ISI Chennai Centre. There is no written exam for this post.
2. Document Verification: You must bring original documents and self-attested copies for verification. At the time of joining, you also need to submit a medical fitness certificate. Merely meeting the qualification does not guarantee selection.
