The Department of Defence Production (DDP), Ministry of Defence, is hiring a Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director (CEO/MD) for Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL), the joint venture company that manufactures AK-203 assault rifles for the Indian Armed Forces. Department of Defence Production (DDP) IRRPL CEO/MD Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Department of Defence Production has released a vacancy circular to fill one post of Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director in M/s Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL), New Delhi. IRRPL is a Joint Venture incorporated in 2019 under an Inter-Governmental Agreement to manufacture AK-203 rifles at Korwa in Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh. The company is owned by Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (42.5%), Concern Kalashnikov (42%), Rosoboronexport (7.5%), and Troop Comforts Limited (8%), with a paid-up capital of Rs. 100 crore. This is a Board-level leadership role — the CEO/MD will be a Director on the Board and will run the company's day-to-day operations under the Board's direction. Candidates from the Central Government, Armed Forces, All India Services, CPSEs, State PSEs, and large private companies are all welcome to apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need to be an Engineering Graduate or a Post Graduate in any discipline.
• Essential Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Chief Executive Officer in a manufacturing company, or an equivalent higher position in the Indian Armed Forces.
• Desirable Experience: 25 years of professional experience in manufacturing or handling of weapon systems.
• Employment Status: On the date of application and interview, you must be employed in a regular capacity (not contractual or ad-hoc) as one of the following: a Central Government/All India Services officer at the level of Joint Secretary or equivalent pay scale; an officer of the Armed Forces at the level of Major General or equivalent rank in the Navy/Air Force; a DPSU/CPSE officer in an equivalent or higher pay scale; a Board-level officer in a State PSE with average annual turnover of Rs. 500 crore or more; or a Board-level executive in a Private Sector company with the same turnover threshold.

Age Limit

• You should be between 54 and 58 years old as on the date of issue of the advertisement (11 August 2026).

Salary

• The selected CEO/MD will get a salary of Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month under Level-14 (CDA) of the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix.
• If you join on deputation, the tenure is 3 years from the date of joining, extendable twice by 1 year each, up to a maximum age of 60 years.
• If you join on immediate absorption, or if you come from the Private Sector, CPSE, or SPSE, the appointment is for 5 years from the date of joining, or up to age 60, whichever is earlier.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for this post. Selection is done by a Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC):

1. Screening of Applications: The SCSC reviews your qualifications, experience, and employment status against the eligibility criteria.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear before the Committee for a personal interview.

The SCSC can also identify and recommend outstanding candidates who have not applied, and may relax the eligibility or experience criteria in exceptional cases.
