About This Job

IRCTC East Zone is hiring 49 Hospitality Monitors on a contract basis. If you have a Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, Tourism or related hospitality qualification, you can attend the walk-in interview. The salary is Rs. 30,000 per month plus duty-linked allowances. Walk-in interviews will be held from 18 May to 20 May 2026 at the IRCTC Zonal Office in Kolkata.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Hospitality Monitor Recruitment 2026 - 49 Posts

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has released notification number IRCTC/EZ/HRD/Recruit./Contract./HM-VI/2026/01 dated 27 April 2026 for Hospitality Monitor posts under the East Zone. The engagement is for 2 years and may be extended by 1 more year based on requirement and performance. The biggest point is that freshers can apply if they meet the listed hospitality qualification.

The selected candidates may be posted in North East states, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand, and IRCTC may transfer or post them anywhere in India as per requirement. The job involves checking food production, service quality and passenger complaints in mobile and static catering units. Who Can Apply?

  • B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration: Full-time degree from CIHM, SIHM or PIHM affiliated to NCHMCT, UGC, AICTE or Government of India.
  • BBA/MBA Culinary Arts: Degree from Indian Culinary Institutes under the Ministry of Tourism.
  • B.Sc. Hotel Management and Catering Science: Degree from a government-recognised university affiliated to UGC, AICTE, Government of India or State Government.
  • MBA Tourism and Hotel Management: Degree from a government-recognised university affiliated to UGC, AICTE, Government of India or State Government.
  • Experience: Nil; freshers are allowed to attend.
  • Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.

Age Limit

  • Upper age for UR: 27 years as on 27 April 2026.
  • OBC relaxation: 3 years.
  • SC/ST relaxation: 5 years.
  • PwBD relaxation: 10 years.

Salary

  • Monthly salary: Rs. 30,000 per month, including statutory deductions.
  • Train duty allowance: Rs. 350 per day for duty on-board trains.
  • Lodging charge: Rs. 240 at outstation if night stay is involved.
  • National holiday allowance: Rs. 384 per national holiday if worked.
  • Medical insurance: reimbursable on valid documents as per IRCTC guidelines.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Contract and duty note: This is a field-facing hospitality role, so selected candidates should be ready for train duty, outstation movement and coordination with catering units. The job can include checking service quality during travel, speaking with passengers, recording feedback and reporting issues to IRCTC officials. Since IRCTC has clearly mentioned possible transfer or posting anywhere in India, you should be comfortable with a flexible work location before attending the interview.

  • Government/PSU employees: Apply through proper channel or carry NOC at the interview.
  • False information: IRCTC can cancel candidature or end engagement if any eligibility or document claim is wrong.
  • No TA/DA: You will not get travel allowance for attending the walk-in interview.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Full-time hospitality, hotel administration, culinary arts, hotel management, catering science or tourism/hotel management qualification as listed in the notification

Preferred Qualification

Knowledge of MS Office, report preparation, problem solving and rational decision-making is desirable

Required Skills

Hospitality supervision, food service monitoring, complaint handling, report preparation and coordination
