inStem Project Associate BMGF Recruitment 2026: Overview
Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (BRIC-inStem) is hiring a Project Associate-I for Prof. Maneesha Inamdar's laboratory in Bengaluru. The institute works under the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council and builds collaborative programmes around stem-cell biology, regeneration and repair in development and disease. This BMGF-coded role combines hands-on molecular and cell biology with regular analysis and scientific communication, so it is designed for someone who can move comfortably between bench work, data and team discussions.
The laboratory needs a researcher who can plan experiments, keep protocols organised and explain results clearly to a multidisciplinary group. Your work will cover basic cell culture, molecular cloning, nucleic-acid isolation, sequencing, immunostaining and imaging, with literature reading and presentations forming part of the normal research cycle. Prior exposure to stem-cell culture is useful, but the essential profile also accepts broader, proven research work in the listed cell and molecular biology areas.
This is a practical project appointment rather than a classroom-only research role. You will be expected to order reagents, monitor experiments, analyse results and keep the team updated without losing sight of the project's larger scientific questions. The notice particularly values people who can absorb, analyse and communicate data while working well with colleagues in a fast-moving interdisciplinary setting.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: the initial appointment is an 11-month contract and may be renewed after a review of progress, the laboratory's need and grant requirements.
- Temporary status: the engagement does not create a right to a permanent or regular post at BRIC-inStem.
- Service benefits: the contract does not carry claims to provident fund, pension, gratuity, medical allowance, seniority or promotion.
- Pay decision: the institute may fix the consolidated amount within the notified band according to the applicable qualification category and its assessment.
- Institute rules: you must follow BRIC-inStem's current conduct, discipline and workplace rules throughout the engagement.
- Application completeness: incomplete forms can be rejected, so make sure the combined upload is readable and contains every component requested in the notice.
- Updates: recruitment-related changes will appear only on the institute website; check it after applying.
- Equal opportunity: women who meet the stated conditions are specifically encouraged to apply.

The online portal expects one combined PDF containing your two-page CV and one-page motivation letter, followed by contact details for at least two referees. Include Advertisement No. inStem/Temp/42/2026 in the letter and explain your past research, career direction and reason for joining the laboratory. The referees will be contacted only if the institute needs their input.
