BRIC-inStem JRF Chromatin Recruitment 2026: Overview
Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (BRIC-inStem) is recruiting a Project Junior Research Fellow for Dr. Srinivas Animireddy's Developmental Chromatin Dynamics laboratory in Bengaluru. The institute works under the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council and the Department of Biotechnology, with collaborative programmes spanning stem-cell biology, regeneration and disease. This role combines computational analysis with laboratory work, so it suits someone comfortable moving between sequencing data, scientific literature and routine mammalian cell-culture experiments. You would join an interdisciplinary group where clear data analysis, careful records and active scientific discussion are part of the day-to-day work.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract term: The initial engagement is for eleven months and may be renewed after the institute reviews your progress, the laboratory's need and the grant position. The appointment remains tied to the project and does not create a right to a regular post.
- Performance expectations: The laboratory is looking for a result-focused team member who can absorb, analyse and explain data in a fast-moving multidisciplinary setting. Accurate experimental records and compliance with laboratory protocols are central to the work.
- Pay conditions: Your applicable fellowship category depends on whether you hold the qualifying national test credential. The institute may fix the final consolidated amount within the notified framework after considering the appointment.
- Service benefits: PF, pension, gratuity, medical allowance, seniority and promotion benefits do not attach to this temporary engagement. You will still need to follow BRIC-inStem's current conduct and discipline rules throughout the contract.
- Eligibility cut-off: The institute checks every eligibility condition against the closing date. An incomplete form can be rejected, and meeting the basic conditions does not by itself guarantee further consideration.
- Workplace: The role is based at BRIC-inStem's GKVK campus on Bellary Road in Bengaluru. You should expect a collaborative research setting where computational and wet-laboratory work meet, and where project priorities may shift as results develop.
- Equal opportunity: Women who meet the conditions are specifically encouraged to apply. Any recruitment update will appear on the institute's own website, so you should monitor it after filing the form.
Application Submission Notes
The application is accepted only through the BRIC-inStem online job portal; email, post or another mode will not be considered. Combine your curriculum vitae and motivation letter into one PDF, quote the advertisement number in the letter, and give contact details for at least two referees. Keep a printout of the completed online form, because the institute advises applicants to retain one for their records.
