About This Job
Indian Army has released notification for 70 Short Service Commission Officer posts under NCC Special Entry 124th Course (October 2026) for Men. Any graduate with NCC 'C' Certificate (minimum B grade) can apply online. No written exam — selection through SSB interview. No application fee. Last date to apply is 16 March 2026.
If you hold an NCC 'C' Certificate, here's your direct route to becoming an Indian Army officer — no written exam needed. The Indian Army is hiring 70 Short Service Commission Officers through the NCC Special Entry 124th Course starting October 2026. Your NCC grade and graduation marks decide whether you get called for SSB.
Key Highlights
- No written exam — shortlisting based on NCC 'C' Certificate grade + graduation marks
- Only for unmarried male graduates with NCC 'C' Certificate (minimum B grade)
- 7 seats reserved for Wards of Battle Casualties — NCC certificate not needed for them
- Training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai — 49 weeks
- You earn a Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management from University of Madras on completion
- SSC tenure: 10 years, extendable to 14 years with option for Permanent Commission
Selection Process
There is no written exam for this entry. Your application is shortlisted using a bonus marks formula — NCC 'C' Certificate grade carries up to 50 marks (A grade = 50, B grade = 25) and graduation percentage carries up to 50 marks. If shortlisted, you attend a 5-day SSB interview at one of four centres (Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar). Candidates who clear SSB Stage-2 go through a medical examination. Final merit is based on SSB marks — in case of a tie, older candidates rank higher.
