Indian Army NCC Special Entry Course 124 (October 2026)
The Indian Army is inviting applications from NCC cadets for the 124th NCC Special Entry Course. This is a great chance for NCC 'C' Certificate holders to join the Indian Army as an officer. You will be commissioned as a Lieutenant under Short Service Commission (Non-Technical) after completing 49 weeks of training.
About This Recruitment
The Indian Army recruits NCC cadets through a special entry scheme. Selected candidates will train at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai starting October 2026. After training, you will get a Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies from the University of Madras.
Total Vacancies: 76
- NCC Men: 70 posts (63 General + 7 Wards of Battle Casualties)
- NCC Women: 6 posts (5 General + 1 Ward of Battle Casualties)
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: Graduation in any stream with minimum 50% aggregate marks
- NCC Certificate: NCC 'C' Certificate with minimum 'B' Grade is mandatory
- NCC Service: Minimum 2-3 years in NCC Senior Division/Wing
- Marital Status: Unmarried males and females only
- Age: 19 to 25 years as on 1 July 2026
- Age Relaxation: No age relaxation
Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will get a salary under Level 10 of 7th CPC.
- Basic Pay: Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month
- Training Stipend: Rs. 56,100 per month during training
- Military Service Pay (MSP): Rs. 15,500 per month (additional)
- Total CTC: Approximately Rs. 17-18 Lakh per year on commissioning as Lieutenant
- Insurance: Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF) cover of Rs. 1.25 Crore
Other Allowances
- Dearness Allowance (DA) as applicable
- Para Reserve Allowance: Rs. 2,625 per month
- Technical Allowance: Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,500 per month
- Field Area Allowance: Rs. 3,400 to Rs. 16,900 per month
- Uniform/Dress Allowance: Rs. 20,000 per year
- Transport Allowance: Rs. 3,600 to Rs. 7,200 + DA per month
- Children Education Allowance: Rs. 2,250 per child per month
Selection Process

- Shortlisting: Based on NCC grade and graduation marks. Bonus marks: NCC 'A' Grade = 50 marks, 'B' Grade = 25 marks. Graduation percentage bonus: 0 to 50 marks.
- SSB Interview: 5-day interview at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar
- Medical Examination: After clearing SSB
- Final Merit List: Based on SSB marks and medical fitness

- Lead and command troops in your assigned unit after commissioning
- Complete 49 weeks of rigorous military training at OTA Chennai
- Maintain high standards of physical fitness and discipline
- Carry out operational duties as assigned by senior officers
- Handle administrative and logistical tasks of your unit
- Participate in defence operations and national security duties
- Train and mentor junior soldiers and troops
- Follow all Indian Army rules, regulations, and code of conduct

Preferred Qualification
NCC 'C' Certificate with 'A' Grade for higher shortlisting marks
