Indian Army NCC Special Entry Scheme 125th Course Recruitment 2026 - 76 Posts

The Indian Army has released the notification for the NCC Special Entry Scheme 125th Course (April 2027), offering Short Service Commission (Non-Technical) to unmarried men and women holding an NCC 'C' Certificate. Of the 76 vacancies, 70 are for men (63 General + 7 for Wards of Battle Casualties of Army personnel) and 6 are for women. NCC 'C' Certificate holders go directly to the SSB Interview without appearing for a written exam, making this one of the fastest routes to become a commissioned Army officer. Graduates with an NCC background should not miss this opportunity. On being commissioned, you will serve a Short Service Commission of 10 years, extendable by 4 more years, with the option to opt for a Permanent Commission after 10 years of service, subject to vacancies and merit.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university. Final-year students can also apply if they complete their degree before the course begins.
  • NCC Requirement: Minimum 'B' Grade in the NCC 'C' Certificate, with at least 2-3 years' service in the Senior Division/Wing of the NCC.
  • Marital Status: You must be unmarried at the time of application and cannot marry until your training at OTA is complete.
  • Nationality: Indian citizen, a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with intent to settle permanently in India (subject to an eligibility certificate).
  • Wards of Battle Casualties of Army personnel are exempted from the NCC 'C' Certificate requirement.
  • Provisional Certificate: If you hold a provisional NCC 'C' Certificate on the date of application, you must obtain the final certificate before appearing for the SSB Interview.
  • If you have already passed your degree exam, you must submit your degree certificate proof by 1 April 2027, or your candidature will be cancelled.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 19 and 25 years old as on 1 January 2027 (born between 2 January 2002 and 1 January 2008, both dates inclusive).

Salary

  • During training at OTA Chennai, you get a stipend of Rs. 56,100 per month.
  • On commissioning, you start as a Lieutenant in Pay Level 10, with salary ranging from Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month, plus Military Service Pay.
  • You also get Dearness Allowance at rates applicable to civilian government employees, Military Service Pay of Rs. 15,500 per month (up to the rank of Brigadier), Transport Allowance of Rs. 7,200 per month plus DA in higher-TPTA cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai (Rs. 3,600 plus DA elsewhere), a Uniform Allowance of Rs. 20,000 per year, and Children Education Allowance of Rs. 2,250 per month per child (for up to 2 children). Officers posted in field, high-altitude or hardship areas also get Field Area, Siachen and other special-duty allowances as applicable.

Physical Standards

Minimum standards before joining OTA training (Male Officer Cadets):

  • 2.4 km Run: within 10 minutes 30 seconds
  • Push-ups: 30
  • Pull-ups: 40
  • Sit-ups: 6
  • Squats: 30 reps (2 sets)
  • Lunges: 10 reps (2 sets)
  • Swimming: basic swimming ability required

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Online Application: Submit your application with the required details and documents.
  2. Shortlisting: Based on your graduation marks and NCC 'C' Certificate grade (bonus marks), tentatively in the first week of September 2026.
  3. SSB Interview: A maximum 5-day interview at centres like Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru or Jalandhar, tentatively in November/December 2026.
  4. Medical Examination: Conducted as per Army medical standards.
  5. Merit List and Joining Letter: Final selection is based on your merit position, subject to vacancy availability.

There is no written examination for the NCC Special Entry Scheme — shortlisted candidates go directly to the SSB Interview.

  3. Click "Apply Online" on your dashboard and select "Eligibility" under Officers Selection.
  4. Click "Apply" against the "Short Service Commission NCC Special Entry Course" option.
  5. Fill in your details and upload your photograph, signature and required documents.
  6. Submit the form before the last date.
  7. After shortlisting, you can select your preferred SSB centre and interview dates from an online window that opens for 14 days in September 2026.
